Guest Arramond Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Just wondering if anyone was planing on checking it out. it has very impressive specs apart from not being windows mobile which i would prefer. http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?partner=modaco&i=179091
Guest dwethiswar Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 not really my cup of tea.. just like an omnia, but with some features added that are not exactly giant steps forward. And it doesn't seem to have wifi? one thing that always amazes me: how long will people keep falling into the "An industry leading 8MP" or whatever MP for that matter? With the tiny lenses coming on pda's, there's like no real difference in 3/5/8 MP pictures. Bigger MP just creates a bigger pic, with more noise. From a photographers point of view they all suck. Yeah I know, it's nice having all-in-one devices, but the times I plaid a curse on myself for not having my Canon with me and instead a lame pda cam, being forced to shoot a practically useless picture, aaarg.
Guest mobilehappy Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) On paper it really sounds like a winner, Preview from GSMArena And the AMOLED screen is said to blow all competitors away, Omnia HD first take Edited March 13, 2009 by mobilehappy
Guest xiphrex Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Oh look at that, they abandoned windows mobile and went with another OS. Now that is really interesting... I wouldnt mind giving that a try.
Guest IllestAzN Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Well I wouldn't mind trying it out. It will actually to give me a chance on see what the Omnia JD is capable of using 3G here in the US. Instead of just using the Omnia here now without 3G.
Guest kav Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) would love to have this device as an extra. wouldnt give up on my current winmo omnia though, i like the possibilities that it has , but it would be great to have the omnia HD as well for the HD video recording capability. just that, for the price tag, that hurts quite a bit :( and i cannot afford to buy a NEW omnia HD only after 3 months of getting my Omnia i900. well i could, but that is crazy B) Edited March 13, 2009 by kav
Guest thierryyy Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 no way, it use the most worse OS; Symbian OS.
Guest ilyukha Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Agree with thierryyy. Not a big fan of Symbian. WinMo is not a great looking OS on its own, but ,IMHO, is much more versatile than Symbian and with add ons you can make it look like anything you want
Guest thierryyy Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 besides, I dont like the plastic look, it looks like a cheap MCDonalds Happy Meal Suprise. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Groet uit Holland B)
Guest whatledog Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 besides, I dont like the plastic look, it looks like a cheap MCDonalds Happy Meal Suprise. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Groet uit Holland B) Yeah... But I wouldn't mind getting that in a Happy Meal! :( Seriously, I think I could get eveything I need from 3rd party apps, and it couldn't do any worse on games than the current omnia, can it? I don't know... Bluetooth is just barely getting straightened out on the current omnia, will Symbian be any better?? Deal breaker for me.
Guest bobobird Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) There is nothing wrong with Symbian. It is probably the most robust and full featured mobile OS at this time. As for customisation, there are tons of 3rd party apps. It can be skinned and tweaked just like winmos. And most of the stuff that we find annoying on winmos hardly exist on the symbians. So don't let your bias prejudice you against the HD. Samsung would not deliberately abandon winmo for symbian on the HD. No doubt there are very sound technical reasons for doing so. I will certainly be getting one... Edited March 14, 2009 by bobobird
Guest dwallersv Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I'll hold off for the US version of the T*Omnia, which, despite claims to the contrary will find it's way here eventually.
Guest abu123 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) its got some nice features such as the screen, HSUPA, 8Mp camera. also 3.5 mm jack But personalluy not keen on symbian OS - It probably gives better battery time Edited March 14, 2009 by abu123
