Guest Samuelw Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) Folks, I've got a question, it's a real dilemma. Since I got a BGP100 (Bluetooth Gamepad) In combination with my i900, and a Snes and Playstation emulator, I want to buy an extra accu to play for a longer period than 1 hour or so. I've got two options: 1 x 2400 MAH OR 2 x 1700 MAH Which option should make me happier? The requirements: - It has to be the option that will give me the longest duration to play (doesn't matter to switch the accus when one has no power anymore) - It has to be safe for my Omnia I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance, Regards, Samuel Edited March 13, 2009 by Samuelw
Guest bpivk Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) Ummm.... I've checked the ebay link you gave us but that doesn't even look like the battery that our Omnia uses. Isn't the contackt on the upper side of the battery? 1700 looks ok but 2400 doesn't look right or it's just a bad picture. Edited March 13, 2009 by bpivk

However, I think it will fit, since the seller is has got a superb rank. Since I am not a German, I tried to decypher the text on Ebay, and I saw the following: Technische Daten: Spannung: 3,7V Kapazität: 2400mAh Typ: Li-Polymer Farbe der Abdeckung: schwarz (Aufgrund der extrem hohen Leistung ist der Akku dicker als der Original Akku, deswegen ist eine extra Abdeckung im Lieferumfang.) The accu is much thicker than usual, so the normal back cover won't fit. Is a custom made cover included, or do i have to buy it seperately? edit: It's included B) Edited March 13, 2009 by Samuelw
Guest abu123 Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 can't answer your question but would be nice to get feedback if anyone is willing to try. My worries would be temperature issues with possible over heating
Guest Samuelw Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 can't answer your question but would be nice to get feedback if anyone is willing to try. My worries would be temperature issues with possible over heating Why would the temperature be higher than with the original batteries (not that technical) I bought 2 x 1700 MAH, and I'll give some feedback on the same day they arrive (this will be in 3~5 days).
Guest abu123 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 i not sure if it will or not but if ampage is increased from normal with same capacity resistors this may be a possiblilty (although i'm not an electrician). I assume that this increased current may lead to a higher load on the circuits and thus possibily increased temperature. i don't know, but it is a worry I would have. even with my HSDPA on for a few hours my omnia gets hot at the bottom rear aspect of the unit. thats with standard battery
Guest Samuelw Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 (edited) Yeah well, the increase of MAH is 'only' 300. So I think the temperature will be around the same temperature. Next to that, the accu contains an 'overheating' security. Next to that, there are also 2400 MAH accus as you can see in my TS, available. So I don't think I've to worry a lot with a 1700 MAH accu in it. Edited March 14, 2009 by Samuelw
