Guest Paul (MVP) Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Back in October we covered the release of Net60 2.0, an upgrade to the Compact Framework compatability for Symbian S60. RedFiveLabs have now announced the release of version 2.1, which adds a number of features and fixes, specifically:The main 'feature' added is touch UI support for S60 5th edition phones. This is partial support at present and we're expecting to have all touch aware Winforms controls supported in our next quarterly release. The new Red Five Labs Mobility Framework which provides managed cross platform support for messaging on S60 and Windows Mobile. The messaging layer supports sending, deleting and listing SMSs in your message folders. Many more managed APIs will be added to this Framework in future to make the lives of developers easier. An improved Net60 Launcher with folder navigation and a wait cursor which demonstrates that the .NET application is loading. Winforms look and feel has been dramatically improved and now integrates to 3rd party components. New -pkg editing functionality in Genesis enables developers to customise their SIS build. You can read full details on the release at the RedFiveLabs page, if you're a .net Compact Framework developer looking to broaden your application's reach, then it's well worth checking out!
