Guest soultrane Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Hi, I have an I900 on PDA: i900XXHJ6/ACHJ2 Phone: i900BUHJ1. I read somewhere a while back that there is an issue (or feature?) that when in USB Mass Storage mode and you are connected to PC via USB cable, the My Storage disappears. This is causing a problem in that I have an mp3 ringtone that is on My Storage and if I receive a call when USB cable is connected (which is quite often), it defaults to the first samsung tone in the list and stays that way even when USB is disconnected. It's quite annoying having to change the ringtone each time. Is there any way around this (other than having the tone on my device)? Also, is anyone able to confirm why the My Storage disappears in mass storage mode?
Guest NickCy Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I think that you cannot access My storage when you are connected in USB mode. Same happens to me, the ring tone reverts to the default because it cannot access my storage.
Guest ilyukha Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 When you are connected to PC in USB mode, your PC sees My Storage as an external drive. To avoid any write/erase conflicts system does not allow you to see My Storage in both places (Omnia and PC). This is done on purpose and I don't think there is a way around it. You can either put your ringtones on yor Storage Card on make the USB connection see your Storage Card instead of My Storage. Otherwise the only option is to keep your ringtones on the device or connect to your PC using the ActyveSinc mode.
