Saving contacts & text messages

Is there anyway of doing this on the omnia?  I use the windows mobile device centre and have set it to sync contacts, emails with outlook but it doesn't copy over all the contacts, but if add any to outlook and sync it afterwards, it copies them to the phone.  I would like to be able to save texts from the phone to my pc if poss, my old Nokia N91 when plugged in to the pc I could view all my texts, edit them, copy and paste them etc, cant find anyway of doing it on the omnia.
