Guest xfer85 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 1) I installed SPB and is currently using the HTC theme. My friend sent me the S2U2 program so i can do a slide unlock, however i still need to unlock via the default method of pressing the unlock buttons on screen. Any solution for this? 2) Also, my HTC interface is only visible if i click on 'spb menu', and my default page is samsung today 2. How can i have HTC acting as the default page? Thanks in advance =)
Guest Blobs Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) For item 2, use "SPB watcher" available via a forum search. It's a small CAB which will always pull SPB to the screen instead of Today. Edited March 16, 2009 by Blobs
Guest xfer85 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) Thanks mate, appreciated =) Btw, just a quick question, should i be dropping everything into 'my storage' and installing on 'my storage' regardless of what app it is? Or is there certain guidelines? I was told to install S2U2 under my device, which imo, might slow down the system. Edited March 16, 2009 by xfer85
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 For number 1, go into SPB shell options and disable lock device (it may be under start -> settings too), S2U2 does all it's locking on it's own. As for where to install stuff, it kinda depends on the program. The general rule of thumb I have been going by, is if it replaces a phone function (dialer, contacts, SMS) I put it on 'my device', anything else (music player, google maps, cache cleaners), I put in 'my storage'/'Storage Card'. The 'My Device' storage is faster than the 'My Storage', but you don't want to completely fill 'My Device'. I normally try to keep at least 20 megs free on the device.
Guest xfer85 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Great thanks for prompt assistance. However i cant seem to find the SPB shell options and disable lock device. Its not under under start -> settings as well =/
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) I don't have spb installed anymore, but for the start -> settings one, it's Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Buttons -> Wake up tab, Make sure it has 'When device is woken up, lock device' is unchecked. It may be listed under tools, and SPB menu (if I recall correctly). There should be an option to lock the device, make sure it is unchecked. Edit: It looks like there is a SPB mobile shell under settings too, it may be in one of the abs there. Edited March 16, 2009 by WoZZeR999
Guest xfer85 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Thanks mate. I've managed to find the first part, but the following, i cant seem to find it. "It may be listed under tools, and SPB menu (if I recall correctly). There should be an option to lock the device, make sure it is unchecked. Edit: It looks like there is a SPB mobile shell under settings too, it may be in one of the abs there. " I think it might has something to do with my S2U2 setting as well, cos when i locked the phone manually without going to the S2U2 folder, the phone is not on slide to unlock screen. Doesnt even appear when i unlock by the default way.
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 You have to soft reset after installing S2U2. There is a background app called iLock that runs in the background waiting for events.
Guest xfer85 Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Ya, i've done a soft reset aftering installing that, still have the double lock =/
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 I'll install SPB and get back to you.
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 I think I figured out what you are doing wrong, you are actually telling the device to lock by holding the end key. With S2U2, all you have to do is hit the power button.
Guest daze sxi Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 WoZZeR is right, I had the same problem, but cannot find the thread i started to give u the link. I was advised to install AEButtonsPlus, i think its free, with that you can assign any thing you want to almost any button, hard or soft keys. Plus the green and red button you can have more than one type of operation. eg. on mine a single tap of green button will bring up the dialer as standard, but I have told it when i double tap green to run the program S2U2, and therefore it locks the phone - i didnt like having to press the on/off button. you can also assign a triple tap and a press and hold operation, it can run any program you like or carry out any action you require...its realy quite good. hope this helps...it helped me alot (if anyone can advise me how to bring up threads that i've started I shall give you the link to it for more info)
Guest daze sxi Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 hahaha I just found it now by clicking on my name on the left here maybe I didnt start the thread but this is where I found out about it all, should make for good reading for any more info hope this helps daze sxi
Guest xfer85 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Hey, thanks for going through all the trouble guys, really appreciate that. WoZZeR999, you are right on that, i actually locked my phone by holding on to the end key. I've tried and power button and it works just fine. Im assuming the program AEButtonsPlus would be able to help me with the end key lock with a slider. I'll try searching for that program, thx =)
