Guest JLP_SVK Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Dear all, I was happy with my Omnia until now. Everything was fine, but suddenly, about 1cm2 is missaligned about 5mm. The rest of the screen is touch-accurate, but this area is misspositioned about 5mm to the right. So if I want to touch object there, I must touch about 5mm right. Should I go to the service, or can I fix it somehow????
Guest Turborepu Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 try the screen calibration tool first to see if that helps.
Guest JLP_SVK Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 no...it doesn't helped.....i realised one thing now, while I was playing with the phone....it's not missaligned in all applications....very strange...looks, like it is missalligned only in original WinMo apps. when I'm working with other keyboard, other dialer and so on, everything seems to be fine. i have original DXIA5 rom from Samsung site. don't know what happens. It's the same on custom ROM's and also on official.

Guest JLP_SVK Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) Ok...look at the attached screenshot.....I can't get to that area....in about middle of the screen, the line from up to down is already ok.And I was not tapping around....i was tapping totally on the right side of the screen. should be a line from up->down.sshot000.bmp Edited March 17, 2009 by JLP_SVK
Guest kav Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 do u guys have a problem with upper right screen? for me there us only 1 "touchpoint" there i cant touch points around i think i read something abt this issue on some forum, maybe here or on another one, dont remember exactly where, but the thing is that those points u see on the screen are called dead pixels. meaning that the touchscreen is damaged at those points and that only replacing the screen will fix that issue.
Guest kav Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Ok...look at the attached screenshot.....I can't get to that area....in about middle of the screen, the line from up to down is already ok. wow...that looks like ur screen is damaged, it doesnt look like some misalignment. have it checked for sure at the shop u got ur phone, they should replace the unit for u if the phone is new.

But it's not too much of a problem since the area where there's no response (instead only 1 touch point responds) in test mode is touch sensitive in normal windows screen
Guest WoZZeR999 Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) I have that too, it's caused because that's where the [X] goes. You can click anywhere around it, and only in the center. It's probably a limitation of WinMo. If you click enough, you get a perfect square with a dot in the middle. Edited March 17, 2009 by WoZZeR999
