Hi,

i was absent for a long time because i had to use a symbian based phone :(

but now i am more than happy that the community around windows mobile and especially a modaco is more alive and even grown :(

Only a few days ago i bought an Omnia and am more than happy with device and spends many hours playing around with it B)

I live in germany and use E-Plus as provider.

E-Plus (also e.g. Orange UK) supports the ALS (alternate line service) which allows you to have a seconds phone number assigned to your sim.

This is only offered for companies.

The first number is the "work" number for company calls and the 2nd is your private number.

The phone rings for both numbers but for outgoing calls you can decide which bill should be charged.

The problem with E-Plus is that they don't set the corrosponding bit on the SIM card to tell a phone that ALS is supported and so the menus to switch line and the shortcut key (long press "*" or long press "#") aren't working.

But since we have a WinMo device we can tweak the registry and therefore force this feature :(

Whenever you restart your phone or disable/enable the GSM part this tweak is gone.

So i decided to develop this neat little program without UI which can be assigned to a hw button.

Just assign it to a HW button.

After starting it forces ALS through a reg key and switches the line which can be seen in the taskbar - so no need for a UI.

If line 1 is activated it switches to line 2 and vice versa.

Although this app is quite special and probably not many people around here have a use for this i want to share it.

Just download it, unrar, copy the included .exe somewhere on your phone, make a shortcut to it and assign a HW button to it.

That's it

Though I have no use for it myself, it sounds like a handy app and thanks for sharing it.

I'm on Orange UK and have 2 lines on my Sim. Your app will save me from having to tweak the registry. Thanks B)

I tried but it dos not worked out

can you just tell me if I need to make an additional setup,

currently I restart phone and enter second lines PIN to activate it.

can you put a picture of settings>personal>phone>more>own numbers for your line 1 and line 2 I think something wong on there for me

Hmm, then it's probably not ALS but something generic.

With ALS you only have 1 SIN pin and are always available via both numbers you got.

The LineSwitcher is just to select the line for outgoing calls.

Sorry, i think i can't you help you here.

Perhaps you should ask your provider if you really have ALS or just something that in a way works like that.

I haven't used a winmo phone for some time because of lack of ALS support. Other systems seem to include it as standard.

Will this work on all versions of winmo?

I general it should work with every WinMo 6.1 device but the ROM should be provider independent or generic.

That means that branded ROMs probably won't work but i can't tell you for sure because i haven't used a WinMo device for quite some time.

So - for sure - i can only really say that it works with the Omnia because i have one B)
