the upper right corner of my screen doesn't work with certain applications. have you tried the lcd diagnostics tools? dial *#0*# in the keypad, and run the touchscreen test. my screen works normally in this test.

That screenshot leads to a 403 error. As ronzo77 said, have you tried the diagnostic tool? Does it only do it with certain applications?

I believe maf107ezk0 obtained that screen shot using the #0*# diagnostic tool.

maf107ezk0, what ROM version are you using? I knew that certain has this issue. I used that wonder if it happens only to my Omnia or was it due to certain other issues. After flashing a few ROMs, I can be certain that this is ROM related. Try using Taril's custom ROM. That should help resolving your screen touch issue...

Good luck...

Hi, thanks for the replies - first the screenshot will work if after getting the error you click on the URL and hit ENTER :( Dunno why... I`m using DXHK1 and if you look the down part doesn`t respond correctly - please try on your devices to get a blue/red line ot the down part!

Thanks in advance B)

I think it's normal for the top right corner (many ppl, inc. me, have this problem - but it's not so much of a problem since it responds in normal windows screen). But as for the bottom part, I think there's something wrong with the hardware, try to rotate the monitor anti-clockwise (so your device runs on landscape mode) and open up some programme and try to scroll it up and down to see if it responds.

Yes, it responds perfectly B) The thing is that when I press on the bottom part, the blue/red pixels come a little bit upper than they have to...

hi guys, i've discovered a strange thing about my omnia.

It might be a calibration issue, when i try using the samsung keyboard at portrait mode - where all buttons of the qwerty keyboard appears to be quite narrow and can be selected by those who have fingernails or using stylus.

i discovered that when i press on the center of the letter "Q" which is at the lower left side of the omnia screen using my stylus or fingernail- it looks like i'm selecting letter "W" and cannot select "Q".

Is the same thing when i wanna hit "A" (which is just at the bottom of letter "Q"), but it appears that im hitting "S"!!!

The only way i can hit the letter "Q" with stylus/fingernail is by clicking really the edge of the touch screen display which is 1/4 of the displayed button of the "Q".

is this firmware issue?

Only that particular spot of the screen is not responsive.

Only that particular spot of the screen is not responsive.

After you tap your screen using the stylus or finger, do you normally slide across/up the buttom slightly such that it touches the buttom next to it with slight force (you wouldn't normally realise it and normally when the "wrong" letter pops up on your screen you would be wondering why this letter pops up)? If you do, then there's nothing to do with the accurarcy or sensitivity. It's something got to do with the way you tap your mon.

Here's what I found out:

I used to type the letter "a" but "q" used to pop up instead of "a" very often. I wondered to myself why that was very often the case. So I started messing around with it (in both landscape and Portrait mode) with my stylus (make sure I get a better accurarcy) and I found the all buttons respond very accurately (I pressed on each and every edge of each buttom and they all respond accurately), but the times when for example "q" pops up instead of "a" are when let's say I press the top edge of "a", and just as I put up the stylus, I slide the stylus up a little bit such that after I apply pressure (cos its a resistive mon) on "a", I also apply pressure on "q", and therefore the software responds with the letter "q". If you very often press on the edges of buttons then you ought to try to put your stylus/ finger up 90 degrees each time you tap such that you don't get the chance to apply pressure on other buttoms of the keyboard.

The above applies to both landscape and portrait

Now that I have mastered the art of using the samsung keyboard, I am very happy using it cos it actually feels like I am pressing a buttom each time I type

ok lol! Now that I have read your problem properly.

Try this registry value in HKMA\Hardware\Devicemap\Touch for the your touchscreen:

Calibration data:

509,501 161,887 161,129 852,129 852,887

Click:

2000

DownUp:

hi msra6la2,

I've done all that. You see, in landscape mode, we can use both ways, either camera button facing top OR with the charger port facing top.

The screen is not sensitive or rather not working at all when at potrait (at the very left border of the touch screen, about 1 inch on top of the word SAMSUNG) and during landscape mode - when the camera button in on the top (here the spot is no longer at "Q" or "A" button, is at the keyboard logo which we tap and the keyboard comes out - of course I keep tapping the keyboard logo, but it won't come out but letter "V" "B" "N" were pressed instead.

I use the stylus for accurate press, but still v/b/n letters. I've also done the *#0#* to test the touch and it shows that particular area when press has no pixels.

It is trying to convince me it is a handware issue. I can live with it - yes - BUT it still bothers me to own something so expensive but there is a noticeable flaw.

LoL! I am soz to hear that. I think it's an one off case to be totally frank with you. If you send it back to samsung they will fix this for you and replace it with the new version touchscreen which apparantly has much better sensitivity than the one I and/or you have
