Verizon Visual voicemail problem.

I have had my omnia for about a month now. I have been using youmail... but since I don't always get my textmessage notifications, I thought that I would give visual voicemail a try. So, I went into sounds and notifications and sent a ringtone for it. however, when I get a voicemail, it doesn't ring. it just does a single beep alert saying that I have one unheard voicemail. Is there anyway to change this? I really need more that just a little beep to let me know when i have a voicemail. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Was this under Start -> Settings -> Sounds and Notifications -> Notifications tab, Event: Phone Voice mail? You could try enabling Vibrate as well.

I have that selected. it it like it is not using that selection at all. The settings that I choose there have no effect on what really happens.

Looks like it is a verizon problem. I called and they said that the right alert wasn't being sent to my phone... Now that they "fixed" it I am not getting any notification of any kind!! But they are working on it. thanks for the help though..

The only way I've been able to receive the notification is if Visual Voicemail is open when you receive the Voicemail - So pretty much you have to leave it running in the background, which isn't really feasible due to the amount of memory it uses.
