yes u can. u will have to choose the type of encryption during the process of connecting to a secured network in the wifi settings tab, then u can enter this encryption type.

and its not called WPA-Enterprise, but WPA-Encryption authentification

first of all i dont really understand ur english, its difficult to know what u want to ask.

secondly the WPA, WPA-PSK, WPA2, WPA2-PSK..... these are the types of WPA ENCRYPTION that u are looking for.Just select WPA in the encryption type.

There is no such thing as WPA -Enterprise...does not exist... we are not in Star Trek....

When u connect to a network with this kind of security, it will ask it, and u can put the type of security it requires and the username and password. the username and password will have to be given by the administrator of the network. otherwise u cant connect to the network.

WPA and WPA2 (without PSK) are what you are searching for. they are indeed often called WPA-Enterprise because these methods are mostly used in enterprise environments.

but you also need to know which authentification you have to use (EAP,PEAP...), do you?

There is something called WPA - Enterprise. this connection requires you to enter a username (which when i connect my laptop to the university network is my student id number) and a password.

here is proof that i am not talking bs about the WPA-Enterprise, unless windows is wrong B)

HugoEgon, the only problem with the WPA and WPA2 is they dont give me the option of entering in a username to connect with, only the password/passkey.

When i connect to the network at uni on my laptop, it allows me to enter in a password and username to connect.

p.s sorry i didnt mention, ive already tried all the basic setting (the ones i stated in my second post).

oh also i just checked my laptop settings it says "microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)", if any of that information helps

thanks everyone

my appologies.... B) ,

its windows vista, and by WPA enterprise, i think they mean WPA ecryption type, but for "enterprise" i mean like company or work server. because it says down that u have WPA personal... this is ur home network security... again its the WPA (the type of encryption used) for both. so just select a new wireless network to connect and the type of encryption or security just select WPA and use ur provided username and password. i think i read somewhere abt how to put username and passkey (password) on secured wireless networks in omnia.cant remember if it was exactly this, i will try to find it then post an answer here.

ok i think i got it...

create a new network., enter the name preferable the name that appears on ur laptop for ur university network,

connects to : the internet, the 2 boxes under it is unchecked. then next

authentication is WPA, data encryption is AES, box with they key is automatically provided is checked and greyed.

next.

EAP type. select PEAP the box with use IEEE 802.1x ... is greyed and checked. then click on properties.. this should allow u to enter a username and a password. its the certificate that will let u connect to the network.

give it a try and let me know if it helped.

Hello, I've seen all the responses and I got really excited on having finally discovered the configuration I should use to connect to my Workplace wireless. However, the steps informed were not applicable for my case. Can anyone help me ? All the Iphone users connects with the wireless here with no problem.. seams that this phone have a WPA enterprise protocol that Omnia does not have yet.. My model is the I900 one. We use the following security encryption 802.1x / LEAP / WEP . I have an user ID and Password . I've tried to select Authentication Shared or Open and Dataa encryption WEP. Selected Key auto providedUse IEE 802.1x checked and EAP type .. as far as I could not find LEAP, I selected Smart Card or Certificate.. and the message I'm receiving is always the same : " Cannot log on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to positively identify you. "

OH great .. but where should I inform my personal data if it does not give me any option ??? Does any one have a clue ? Regards
