I've looked high and low for this, but I cannot find anything comparable. When my phone's in portrait mode, I like using the phonepad and XT9 input. I can enter text quickly and with one hand. However, when I need to enter things where predictive text won't be helpful, such as passwords or logins for websites for example, I usually end up turning my Omnia, changing to the full keyboard, and turning off XT9. Now, I don't know if anyone here is familiar with it, but the LG Dare has exactly this functionality. In portrait mode, its a phonepad, and turning it automatically gives a full keyboard without predictive text. My question is, does a keyboard exist like this for Windows Mobile? If not, is there some program or script that will do what I'm asking? There was that OmniaSIP program (I think it was called) that let you set the default SIP for each orientation, but it doesn't seem to work for the Verizon i910. It seems like a fairly straight-forward thing to want, and I'm really surprised I can't find more on it.

Also, for those wondering, I've tried the Resco Keyboard and the FingerKeyboard 2, which are very nice keyboards, just not speedy enough for me compared to the phonepad xt9 input. Ideally I'd just like something to switch my keyboard and turn off XT9 for me when I turn the phone. Any ideas?

omniaSIP - look in Paul's sticky "must have programs"

As I said, I have tried this already. It doesn't change the keyboard when the screen rotates. All it seems to do is save the default keyboard for when the phone resets.

have you tried it recently? according to the description it can remember for orientation change now.

The problem I had with omniaSIP was that it did not support 3rd party keyboards - only the samsung ones. It worked with rotation most of the time but I ran into some wierd problems occasionally.

I wonder if you could use RotationService or mortScript (or a combination of both) to accomplish this?

One of the biggest annoyances I have with the Omnia is text imputing. When the there is no music playing it is at best average. When I have music playing it it is screeching-halt slow. I use the Resco keyboard now. A friend has the LG Dare. They let me try texting and mannnnnn....the screen is so responsive, fast and accurate that I got a bit jealous. If there was a program to mimic the look, feel and responsiveness of the LG Dare it would really be worth investing in.

Absolutely agree. One of my friends let me play with theirs and I got totally jealous.. Until I went to the rest of the phone and realized how locked down it was (Verizon). The screen and input functionality totally rocks, though.

Anyway, maybe I'm doing it wrong with OmniaSIP...? I load the program, select which keyboard I want to keep, click save, turn the device, pick, save, and exit. It only remembers whichever keyboard I chose last, regardless of orientation. And when I go back into the OmniaSIP program, it has the last chosen keyboard no matter what. I can't think of any other way to do it? Btw, I'm totally fine if it can switch between just the Samnsung keyboards. The ability to pick one of the others would be great (FingerKeyboard 2 with the modified landscape skin is awesome), but getting to auto-change the Samsung ones would make me sooo happy.
