Guest Sinaaa Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Hello Everyone, I'm stuck with a problem that after I removed(uninstalled) Mobidiv language support(I needed it to read persian language), it said keyboard is running, please restart the phone. I restarted the phone and phone now stops while booting. What I think is that the keyboard SIP is removed from the registry and thats causing my phone not to boot. I know how to Hard Reset my phone , but is there ANY way I get my 16gb "My Storage" data? cause in as much as I know, hard reset formats the whole internal and storage memory. Is there anyway I be able to connect my phone to computer? If theres no way, can recovery programs that recover HDD data, recover storage card data as well(I mean after the format)? I appreciate your responses. Thanks Sina
Guest voornaam3884 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 activesync might be enough to get files of internal memory, sorry hard reset is only way.

I performed it several times and it only restores the OS (you'll lose programs installed, user settings, documents and messages but My Storage remain untouched) unless you specify to format the storage also. In fact, I used to make backup on my 8GB storage and, when hard resetting the device, I simply restore all from "My Storage". I use the call + hang up + power way. Cheers
Guest Sinaaa Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Thank you guys for your replies. voornaam3884, you mean if I connect the phone to pc while its off, I can get data out of it? Its kinda weired but are you sure this happens? BeamRider, I heard that if you hard reset using the one in the phone options while the phone is on, you can choose to format which memory. but if you hard reset using call+hangup which I have now to perform, it removes both phone memory and internal(storage) memory. If I'll have the option to choose between which memory I'm going to format in call+hangup method of hard reset, that would be great, cause I have backup of my phone data on my internal storage. Just because I've never flashed/formatted my phone, I'm really afraid of continuing when it asks to "Format ?". Thanks a lot Would appreciate more responses B)
Guest Sinaaa Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 I hate it to bump, but guys please help. Anyway someone knows to get my internal storage(16gb one) data? and does the hard reset using call/hangup removes all the data or only the rom? Thanks a lot
Guest myoder020 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 hard reset using call/hangup does not remove data from internal storage, at least it doesn't on my phone.(i910)
Guest Sinaaa Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 thanks for the reply myoder020. Is there any option you choose while using call/hangup to hard reset? or when it asks "Format?" you just say yes and then it does everything by itself and then after it turns on again you see your internal memory data? Any more help? Please help me, cause I'm few days without a phone B) And I really need my data...
Guest myoder020 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) When you hard reset call/hangup way the only choice you get is to format and it does everything on its own. It should just return your main memory to what it was originally and it shouldn't touch your internal data (My Storage). Edited March 20, 2009 by myoder020
Guest Sinaaa Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 That would be great, but really scary. You know I saw a folder in My Storage which in properties of that, it was named a part of rom. So, I'm really scared if I do a hard reset, because of that single folder, I lose all my data. Any way to connect to PC while the phone is off or while not yet loaded? B)
Guest myoder020 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 http://www.samsung-omnia.org/how-to/how-to-hard-reset/ There you go, skip on down to option 2.
Guest Sinaaa Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Hi Thanks a lot. I did it (although before your reply). Cause I saw no other way, and Fortunately, it didn't format the internal storage B) phone working fine now... :( Thanks a lot for your help. To any guy who might not know whether it formats internal storage or not, it doesn't(by "it" I mean the soft reset using call +hang up way). Problem solved... :(
