Guest BeamRider Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 does WinMo support Capacitive screen? because a mate of mine who went to that mobile exhibition in Barcelona says that Omnia HD has a capacitive touchscreen just like the SGH-F480/488 Tocco/Touchwiz Capacitive vs Resistive is not a problem that OS take care of. Multitouch is, but it's a feature. Still, you can build a device with capacitive touchscreen and a more conventional GUI. Before capacitive/multitouch I would like to see an OLED display(or a really sunshine readable LCD), I don't have plans to use more fingers on a 3" class device B)
Guest kav Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Also here it says again that it is only a rumor, and that there is no official announcement abt these phones. besides the pictures are too blurry to see if they are really Omnia HD running win mo 6.5.
Guest rydude07 Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Will we be able to update our verizon i910 to 6.5?
Guest kav Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Will we be able to update our verizon i910 to 6.5? i kind of doubt that, because it is already difficult to get current ROM upgrades for the verizon i910, and the ROM upgrades are only bug fixes and improvements so far.. but a new updated OS, it a bit hard to believe that verizon will offer that. and besides most custom ROMs which will be based on win mo 6.5 are not meant to be used on the i910, due to possibility of damaging the phone to the point of no repair, even now the custom ROMs of winmo 6.1 are not advised to be used on i910, some say caterogically not to use those custom ROMs if its a i910 as it will damage it for sure. i dont own a verizon i910 but as far as i have read comments of owners of verizon i910s, they are having quite some difficulty in getting proper updates for their phones. i think all u can do is hope that verizon might offer this upgrade, but i personally doubt it.
