Guest geeky Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 For some reason I appear to not have wifi within my omnia any more. I havent reflashed or changed anything appart from loading Pointui home2, but i dont think this is anything to do with my issue. I havent used wifi for ages but would really like to use it now, is there anything i can try to get it back? Thanks; Geeky
Guest geeky Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) Having searched a fair bit here it seems the problem is probably due to wmwifirouter install. For some reason i didnt work I was unable to uninstall it correctly. IO have tried to reinstall using the same .cab again but sadly it keeps failing as it is unable to remove the old version. Very annoying, i have just downloaded the latest version (1.25) and installed it, but sadly i cannot get it to recognise wifi. This is very annoying, does anyone have any ideas how i can go forward (ive tried the widget wifi enable / soft reset trick but that didnt work). EDIT: Im sure all is not lost, if i go to settings\version then the wifi is still reporting a mac etc.. i just cannot get it to start from within windows. Edited March 19, 2009 by geeky

This has been hashed in the tethering thread. the general consensus is that u need to go to options in WMWiFiRouter and select crash cleanup. then go to power options, the last option to the left is Wi/Fi power saving mode. Check that box. Now do a SOFT reset of the Omnia. Generally, one or two soft resets solve the problem. even if you don't have WMWiFiRouter still try the power settingd and resets.
Guest geeky Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 Sadly i cannot get wmwifirouter installed (using the same version that crashed) to run the recovery! I have tried several soft resets with the powersave ticked and not, but sadly the wifi still isnt appearing. Pretty annoying, but i might just have to live with it as there is not really any way i want to hard reset my phone, ive finally got it working in a decent way. Any other ideas?
