Samsung Blackjack II (sgh-i617) Backlight Wont Turn Off

Hi all, I bought a used Blackjack II about 2 months ago. I took it apart to repaint the casing since it's all scratched up.

I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 and then I noticed the backlight problem.

It seems the backlight led wont turn off, so even though the picture has disappeared the light still on

showing a bright white screen. B)

I have tried hard reset, modifying the registry but still did not resolve the problem.

I also noticed that I could not adjust the brightness of the screen.

The screen is at the brightest setting by default, so even though I set it to "1" or "5" it would still be the same.

Help me out, this is my last resort.

You've shorted something when changing the casing. Dissassemble then reassemble again carefully.

i did, even tried turning it on without the casing. Still the same thing.

The way blackjack II disassembled is as a whole, very similar to an older nokia with express cover, or a blackberry bold.

Is there anyway i could verify it?
