Guest Population96 Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Can anyone else confirm this? Me and my friend both have WinMo handsets on Verizon, and the other day he sent me a message over 160 characters. Usually it would cut the message off at 160 and send a "message modified" text as well, and only the first 160 would be taken by the VZW network. But what happened instead was it chopped the message up into 160 character long texts, as many as needed, and the network accepted all of them. Although the "message modified" message is sent as well still, they must still be testing it and will remove it later. Can anyone else confirm this? I want to be sure it wasn't because of changes I've made to my phone or plan recently.
Guest aceofrazgriz Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 was this hampered to limit 160 characters? i just got mine and rarely send long messages, but i remember on my SCH-i760 (WM6.1) on VZW i could send/receive them over 160. It just becomes multiple messages... And as far as i know emal has no limit while MMS has a longer limit due to increased file size
