Guest DxTania Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Just got the Omnia few days ago, loving it, installed a few apps onto it. Just a few hours ago I was transferring a couple cabs onto the Omnia and installed them, but now my computer won't recognize my phone. I tried uninstalling the cabs i had installed (KeySwop and something to light up the screen when an sms comes in) and it didn't work. I soft reseted my phone, restarted my computer, reinstalled mobile device center, all to no avail. Can anyone suggest anything else..I'm hoping I don't need a hard reset.
Guest DxTania Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Odd, I had tried both front ports on my computer, neither working. I then unplugged some crap out of the back. plugged in my omnia and guess what...it works..

Mine all on its own switched this setting a few days ago, racked my brain for hours before finding the setting had been altered..
Guest joex51 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Odd, I had tried both front ports on my computer, neither working. I then unplugged some crap out of the back. plugged in my omnia and guess what...it works.. I had a very similar issue, and had to get a new phone from Verzion 7 days after I got the phone. Tech support said it seemed as if the usb port was bad. My issue was the same after running a sync it stopped working all of a sudden. Does the phone charge correctly when it is plugged into the USB? Does windows even see a new device and try to install drivers for it? Here are some linsk to trouble shooting this issue Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-...leshooting.mspx XP: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-...vesync-usb.mspx They will ask you to soft reset the phone, I did a hard reset on my phone as well just to be sure it was not a Phone software issue. If you run thru all of these and nothing works call tech support and tell them that you ran thru all of these with no success. Explain to them everything that you have tried, (make a list) , Don't get upset but they will probably have you run thru some of the steps you have tried already but they have to per their protocols. I am assuming here that it is a Verizon Phone the number for tech support is 8662214096 Hope this helps
