Guest dwallersv Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) I searched first, folks B) Is there a simple registry setting or something to change the default increment for volume when pressing the volume rocker on the side of the phone? Clearly much finer control is possible, as other apps implement much smaller increments (PocketPlayer, for example). The generic button driver changes it in such large chunks it's nearly useless as a volume control -- two clicks down from full volume and it's nearly off. Any wisdom gang? 3rd party add-on that can help with this? EDIT: Just saw qbus' mar 4 posting about Samsung Big Volume control, and am trying it out. Still would like other suggestions, though, so please post replies! Edited March 25, 2009 by dwallersv

More levels that you see in 3rd party applications are just self-implementation (system volume still remains the same, only volume of sound from particular app changes).
Guest illusion786 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Its possible, but you have to do it manually Check this thread http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...-volume-levels/

Guest illusion786 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) This one only changes the scale but does not increase number of middle-steps between silence and full volume. it does i have done it on mine using tarils rom IA2. you have put the vol on the rocker to the 2nd lowest, then adjust the decibel for the speaker (SPK(02)). I have it set to -15db. And the DAC to -1.5db On tarils IA2 even on the lowest vol settings, the general vol was too high. Now i can adjust the vol in increments properly to my likings via the rocker. Edited March 26, 2009 by illusion786
Guest illusion786 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) ps you can always use this aswel http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Audio/Vo...rol-35536.shtml its a freeware Volume Control is a small utility that will please fans of the pad and buttons. It allows you to modify the volume of your Pocket PC without using the stylus and with greater precision than the button on the title bar. The graphics are good but it is a shame that this application is not "skinable". Maybe someone can implement this app in their next rom B) Edited March 26, 2009 by illusion786
Guest illusion786 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) This works sweet. Looks nice too B) Now to find out how to replace the built in one with this so it shows on the taskbar Edited March 26, 2009 by illusion786
Guest dwallersv Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Turns out I had a solution to this on my Omnia all along, and didn't know it: The Volume control integrated in S2U2. It has 3x the steps available through the WM control, and after playing with it extensively I can confirm 100% that these finer gradations are real, and global in terms of volume. Downside is that you must use the touchscreen to set it to get the finer control -- pressing the volume rocker up and down chunks the S2U2 control in groups of three increments. An oversight on S2U2's part that I'm sure can be fixed simply by hooking the OS in the right place to grab volume presses. Other apps can do it.
