Guest Maxwell Newton Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) Hello! Flashed a new rom for the first time today, takes some getting used to, but the only input device it has in Block recog, Keyboard and letter recog. It doesnt have any of the samsung inputs, which are much better IMHO. I used to use the samsung phonepad, where can i download this? If this isnt possable is there a better alternative? I did some searching but couldnt find any answers, please help! Max Edited April 1, 2009 by Maxwell Newton

Guest meabigbaldguy Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 bump... Please help! I cant be dealing with this tiny little keyboard!! B) I think that this is what your your asking for. Using Active Sync, just install the dialer enabler CAB anywhere on your phone, find the CAB on the phone with File Explorer, then simply double-click to install. When prompted, install it to the device. The second CAB file gets rid of the annoying keypad lock during phone calls. I just thought that I'd include it too. You must install it the same way you installed the first file. Hope this helps!Samsung_Dialer_Enabler.cabMoDaCo.OmniaPatchedDialler.CAB
Guest Maxwell Newton Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 (edited) Ah no :( Thanks but thats not what i need. When you are typing an sms, you can normally choose between samsung phonepad, samsung keyoard and then the recogniser inputs using the stylus. Since installing a ROM i now only have the windows keyboard to input, and i would really like the samsung phonepad, the one that looks like this: 1.....2.....3 .?! abc def 4.....5.....6 ghi jkl mno 7.....8.....9 pqrs tuv wxyz <-.....0...(Enter) Dont suppose you have that on cab do you? Thanks :( ! EDIT: I dont mind not having the original, just something that has this layout and works with T9 B) Edited March 31, 2009 by Maxwell Newton
Guest Maxwell Newton Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 bump B) I have tried a few keyboards out, but nothing can beat the Samsung Phonepad. Surely someone knows how to upload this?
Guest mnegutu Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 If you can't find any .cab with the original keyboard, you should try installing PCM (PocketCM) Keyboards. Very skinable but I personally prefer the "compact qwerty" aka keypad of the original omnia ROM.
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 (edited) bump B) I have tried a few keyboards out, but nothing can beat the Samsung Phonepad. Surely someone knows how to upload this? Unfortunately, I don't have the CAB. If possible for you, then you may just want to flash another ROM. Actually, I'd be pissed if my ROM didn't have something so important like let's say... the dial pad keyboard. If you don't want to flash another ROM, then you should look into downloading PhoneEx. It's a very good dialer/contact manager, and unlike anything else out there, it installs itself as the default dialer for the Omnia. I'm using it and like it very much. You can also try SPB keyboard for texting. It has a full screen feature, nice skins, and word completion for several different languages. Edited March 31, 2009 by meabigbaldguy

There must be a way for someone to upload the files from the windows folder used by the Samsung keyboards?? Il keep looking! Hey! I too find the Samsung phonepad to be one of the more useful keyboards. Probably your best bet would be the HTC EziInput keyboards. I'll attach the cab file I used here, otherwise just download the "QVGA Keypad" cab. Another keypad you might be interested in is the free version of TouchPal. It has a phone Keypad in the same vain, but offers features such as sliding up for uppercase, down for symbols, left to right to change modes, easy common element inserts, etc. It takes a little adjusting but it's probably one of the better inputs. Hope this helps! EziInput 1.5 *update Whoops, forgot to link. Also, if you don't like either of these I'm pretty sure I saw the Omnia keypad .cab floating in Khuanchai's ROM thread somewhere. Have a search. Edited March 31, 2009 by grumbly_bum

Several of the cooks have a list of cabs that they left out of their cooked roms you can download on the first post of their main topic for their cooked roms. Ron... Edited March 31, 2009 by ronaldb3
