How can I provide Internet from desktop PC to Pocket PC?

How can I provide internet from my Desktop PC to my Pocket PC via bluetooth? I tried ActiveSync but I am not satisfied with it.

if u tried activesync and u r not satisfied with it , then i dont think there is another solution unless u have wifi integrated in the device. but are u talking abt an omnia or what pocket pc are u talking abt? if it is not an omnia, then maybe u should post in some device specific thread here at modaco, maybe people who own the same device as u do might be more in a position to help u.

anyway internet via bluetooth will be rather slow since the bluetooth connection is slow itself.

What was wrong with Activesync? it allows you to use the internet via the pc what other internet feature were you looking for?

Otherwise for home use as mentioned above wifi is always worth doing, just watch the battery life.

I agree with kav.

Your best bet is to use Wifi if your router has the Wifi antenna. If it doesn't, you should seriously consider getting one if you can. Wifi is faster than your phone connection on your device(?) and cheaper.

Now I am trying something else: I went to Settings - Connections, I added new connection, and under "add new modem connection" -> "select a modem" there is Bluetooth! What is this, can I use my PC as a bluetooth modem? http://media.snimka.bg/2551/011357944-big.jpg

no it means that u can use the omnia as a modem for the pc. the omnia will connect to ur 3G network or GPRS network and provide internet to ur pc. then u can browse the internet on ur pc, using the omnia as a modem via bluetooth. well thats the most expensive solution (and if i can say, most stupid if u already have a broadband connection at home) that u are looking for. using 3G/GPRS as internet source for a pc will get u a phone bill u will never forget.

its easier if u get a wifi router and they dont cost that much nowdays, and u will be able to surf the net on ur omnia at home and its cheaper as u will only pay for ur regular internet bill.

trying to use bluetooth for internet via activesync is not really so reliable as the bluetooth connection is not always kept constantly alive and data is received and sent in packets that go pretty slow. (slower ping interval then wifi)
