Guest SuzukiDan Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 I've got my i910 tethered to my Windows XP PC with the internet connection sharing app. using the bluetooth and a usb bluetooth dongle plugged into my PC. My windows XP is also on a personal LAN with a few other machines connected via wifi / ethernet. I'm wondering, how do I share this bluetooth connection (shows up in network connections) across the entire network? The conventional method of right clicking on the connection and "bridge" it or share it does not seem to be possible. I tried to run the network setup wizard, but it will not allow me to choose the bluetooth connection as my default internet connection (it does not show up in the list). If I have both LAN and Bluetooth connected, my PC tries to use the LAN for internet, which there is none. I have to disable my LAN connection in order to browse the internet. I've already got my other PCs pointing to this PC as the default gateway, and I was sharing internet just fine with my sprint aircard. I searched for a while but can't find anything on here or google. See attached image for illustration. Thanks in advance!
Guest mnegutu Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Try using WM WifiRouter it can bridge the connections of your phone (Wifi-cable, bluetooth-cable, Wireless carrier-cable, and other settings). Hope it helps.

Hope it helps. Thanks but i had wmwifirouter trial version and it caused me to have to do a hard reset. Don't think I'll be trying that again. I also do not want to spend $30 for a license fee, I'm sure this sharing process can be accomplished without spending any more money.
Guest shadowsjc Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 wmwifirouter should be free, where were you trying to download it from?
Guest SuzukiDan Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 wmwifirouter should be free, where were you trying to download it from? WMWifiRouter is free for the trial version, but the trial version sucks and broke my phone. So I will not use that again. It sounds like PDANet might work for this, but that requires a license as well. Has anyone tried PDANet? Would it make this easier if I was to connect my phone to my PC via USB? Does nobody know a FREE way to hook this up??
Guest SuzukiDan Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 Well I tried this with the USB connection via ICS from my phone, and I was able to bridge the connections in windows, but then my PC could not get to the internet.. I tried running the network setup wizard and choose the options to use my PC as the internet PC that others connect through, and then chose the Local area connection 4 (my omnia) as the default internet, and then it asked which LAN the other PCs were on, so I chose Local area connection 1 (going to my router) and at that point the wizard came up with an error that another machine on the network is already using an IP address of 192.168.0.1, which when I look at my Omnias USB connection, the default gateway is 192.168.0.1, so it appears when I tether my phone it sets itself to 192.168.0.1. Is there any way to change my omnia to use something like 192.168.0.2 then I can just manually change the Local area connection 4 gateway to that IP? Man this stuff is giving me a headache.. please can someone suggest some help? B)
