Guest Maxwell Newton Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 (edited) Hello, Upgraded to Khuanchai's latest ROM: http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-r...-31-march-2009/ It has Opera 9.5. This is a nice upgrade from 9, but iplayer still doesnt work :( It will load the page and then show the little circlular buffering icon, this is where it hangs.. forever! The opera becomes very slow and hangs a lot until you shut it, which says to me its trying but bugging. On to Skyfire, if you havnt tried it, try it! Its still in public beta, but i am very impressed with its speed, and it has FULL flash not, lite, so ALL sites display as they would on your computer, this includes things like Facebook, YouTube (plays the vuds too) and BBC iPlayer (plays vids). However, a lot of site have mobile pages designed to load faster on devices and be easier to use, ie larger icons (Facebook and iplayer haver mobile versions). However, i am not able to load these because normally I would google facebook and then hit the first link and it would normally open the mobile version, however with the new opera and skyfire, it loads the full version (Skyfire even loads FB chat, but its too small to use!). Does anyone know how to: 1) Get mobile.iplayer working on eother browser, (Custom input SGH-i900 trick doesnt work for me). 2) Set the browsers to automatically load mobile pages if availabe. There used to be an option in opera, but its gone! Thanks for your help B) Max Skyfire: http://www.skyfire.com/ Edited April 2, 2009 by Maxwell Newton
Guest mpatel Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 I had the same problem, couldn't play iplayer on opera. But fortunately I can now, not sure which version opera I've got but it's the same one I had in my phone. I used that trick as well to change configuration to SGH-i900 but didn't work. so keep that as default. when I was trying, i was getting error..connect to wi-fi. So, I've been told to go to menu -setting - browser connection & select WAP. And check ....menu-setting -connection - advance - select networks & then select my internet. it works for me & now can play iplay through opera 9 (I guess B) ) I hope it will work for you as well. :( Hello, Upgraded to Khuanchai's latest ROM: http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-r...-31-march-2009/ It has Opera 9.5.
