Backlight comes on everyday at the same location during my commute

I have a Sprint HTC Touch w/ WinMo-6. I noticed the backlight comes on but no activity on the phone. Recently I've noticed it conssistently comes on whenever I pass a certain section of road. It's extremely consistent to and from work everyday.

Any ideas what could cause this?

It could be that the phone is waking up after switching cell towers on your journey.
