Power/USB cover

That little plastic cover over the power/USB port annoys the heck outa me. i mean, i charge my phone every night and depending on how late it is, that is not always the easiest thing to get off. I like to keep my nails short so i sometimes have to pick at it.

So, i get to thinking, "what is the worst that could happen if i just RIP the bloody thing off?" has anyone done this thing? What is the communities thoughts?

I actually removed it on my third day of getting the Omnia dude.. and I didnt break it or anything, I just made sure I hold it as close as possible into/inside the slot opening.. while I pull it.

be careful where you hold it, if you hold it at the end - away from the slot chances of breaking it.

i pulled it off and it all came out in one piece.. :-)

Great feedback. never occurred to me that i could take the cover off w/o destroying it. i was able to get the cover off with it all in one piece. i think i will hang on to it in case i change my mind.

I also removed it few days after getting the phone (last september). No dust problem or anything B)

But I opened the case to do so, so that I didn't fear to break it :(

I'll keep it to put it back in case of warranty issue.. how long is manufacturer warranty ? 1 year ?

I ripped mine out after a week of dealing with how annoying it was. I actually didn't care if I broke it, but it came out in one piece anyway.

There is always the chance of some unwanted debris getting in there, but oh well. B)
