1. I have a Omnia i910 here in the US. When I follow the instructions to view ROM version(start/settings/systems tab/) , the screen is different from what everyone is apparently seeing. I see ROM version, modem version, H/W version...all the way to WDC(?). There is no My devices with collapsible window or PDA version. Help

2. The phone is on the verizon network. I want to flash it over to another provider. Do I need to get updates from Verizon then falsh it over or can I just go to the samsung site?

3. Has anyone heard of verizon unlocking the GPS on there new phones and some retroactively? has it been done already? The article is here

1. Most people here have a GSM version of Omnia (i900). That could be the reason why yours is different. All ROMs released so far (official and custom) are made for these phones and WILL NOT work on Verizons i910.

2. I am pretty sure that you will not be able to flash it to another carrier. CDMA phones in US are locked to a a certain provider (usually Sprint or Verizon) and can not be used with another one. ROM flashing is not going to change it, even if you could flash it. I heard that both Sprint and Verizon will eventually allow phones from each other, but I dont think it is already the case.

3. There is a huge thread here about the GPS issue. At this point the GPS is still locked only to VZ Navigator. There are different reports that it will be unlocked some time. There are some rumors that within a couple of weeks verizon will issue a new ROM just for i910 with unlocked GPS. You just have to wait and hope.

1. Oh okay. that makes sense

2. YOU can flash your phone to other CDMA carriers. There's an entire market for it. Just don't want to pay to have it flashed other provider, miss the update from Verizon, have it flashed back over(I'm thinking), and the get it once again flashed over to my provider(sigh).

3. Yeah first half of this year is what I heard. Maybe I'll call them, better yet go buy a store.

Well I hope there's some more info on the Omnia i910 soon...

I feel sorry for you guys that own an i910. It's been a while since I've been stateside, but from all of the threads I've seen, it seems that Verizon really has their Omnia locked down.
