i910 New Widgets

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and have been reading through the many threads regarding the many cooked ROMs for the i900 and none for the i910. I have been using pocket pc devices since the the year 2000, so I am not new to windows mobile but the Omnia i910 is my first windows mobile phone device. I was tired of carrying a pocket pc and cell phone, so I got the Omnia to combine the two. Of course, just like everyone pocket pc I've ever had, I want to cusomtize the Omnia to my own needs.

Anyway, I like the widgets, but I really hate that I can't customize them. I see that there are new widgets available for the i900. Even though there are no cooked ROMs for the i910, is there any way of getting the new i900 widgets on the i910? I really want the weather widget, and wouldn't mind the news widget also.

I have installed SztupY's version of M2D, and I am very impressed by it, but I don't like that it takes 17mb of RAM. If I could use it without installing a new picture picture viewer and media player (I already have Windows Media and Touch Player) it would be better. Of course, it still responds faster and seems more stable than the Samsung Today 2 plugin I tried.

New widgets will be available when Verizon releases an updated firmware for the device. We expect that could be any time between now and July 1. Here is some other news that may interest you: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=4002

I don't really care for Samsung's interface myself though. If you want a really customizable UI, then I recommend Pointui. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I love it. It does all my needs, and feels very responsive to touch.

Thanks, I will take a look at Pointui.

pointui is awesome. my only gripe (now) is the lack of wqvga support, which may be partially fixed in the next update which will allow applets to stretch to fit the screen. theres alot out there for it, and its still pretty young. keep an eye on their forums and see what you can find.
