Guest bigmaras Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) Hi, We have 4 contact manager on market: 1. Inesoft Phone v4.55 2. Phone Extension v1.35 3. Panoramic Phone Genius v1.4.0 4. Resco Contact Manager v1.11 Which of them is the most powerfull and usefull? What are advantages and disadvantages use them? Sory for my ugly english B) Edited April 5, 2009 by bigmaras
Guest gragra Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) You did not include Spam alert, which imho is the best contact manager in terms of design and usability. Since I started using the version 1.0 last year, I haven't bothered considering any other contact manager. The current version is 1.3. NB: Just to add to the above when I saw that 'Spam alert' was substituted for the name of a widely known contact manager that I mentioned in my post. I neither work for the software makers or know them, I just happen to use their product and recommend them like anyone else. That is one of the essence of a forum like this. That was necessary because of the dumb "get free licence" offer. The forums were flooded with duplicate topics that didn't help anyone and were just pposted so that people could score points and get a free licence. Edited April 4, 2009 by bpivk
Guest gragra Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 That was necessary because of the dumb "get free licence" offer. The forums were flooded with duplicate topics that didn't help anyone and were just pposted so that people could score points and get a free licence. I don't neccesarily have to do this. But I wanted to clear myself against bpivk's unfounded allegation. I have a registered copy of the software in question and have been using it since last year. I felt I needed to post a picture of it so that you donot take the good intentions of others in bad light. I dont need to waste my time to score cheap points inorder to obtain a license that costs less than $25. Enough said.
Guest vishalm Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 I used Inesoft Phone because its the only one that allows custom fields. e.g allows a contact to have 2 mobile numbers. If you know any apps that allow that, please let me know. Oh and its very finger friendly and easy to use.
Guest bpivk Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) gragra I didn't mean you but a lot of other posters that came here. Some people even made an account just to post and get the free software. And that's why the mods did this. So you really shouldn't be offended. I just offered an explanation as to why the name is censored. It was nothing personal so just chill. Edited April 4, 2009 by bpivk
Guest gragra Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) Bpivk, your explanation is clear enough. However my intention was to make it clearly known that I wasnt one of them. I could have been offended but believe me if I say right now I'm chilling. Lets leave it at that. Edited April 4, 2009 by gragra
Guest biggy83 Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 For me Icоnsоft Phone Extension 1.35 is the best software out there, tried many and for long periods but non matched it. Use it on your Omnia with full confidence.

Biggy83, what's the secret? You just echoed exactly what I wanted to say without being censored.
Guest bpivk Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 gragra it seems that the mods only implemented some words that are censored and not all of them. As you can see (if you check my group) i'm just a poster not a mod so i guess the reason that he wasn't censored is that he spelled the app differently. But i still don't understand why it's such a problem to you. The problems is that if you use the serach function you'll see a lot more topics like this one so it's kind of pointless to argue.

If you ever try to install another contact manager these custom fields will not transfer and will be lost. Otherwise a very good program. It does not use much memory, has full screen caller ID, very flexible profiles and reminder for SMS and missed calls. It also allows you to answer the call with preset SMS in case you can not pick up the phone. PhoneEx is a very good program as well (despite their annoying marketing strategy). It looks great, has its own dialer (unlike Inesoft Phone), great contacts search. It takes up a lot of memory though. Was a little buggy, but the latest versions are very good. I tried both and right now can not decide which one to keep... B)

Bprivk, like I stated in my previous post, lets put this behind us. What I wanted to say has been said by others more articulately. Thats the essence of being a part of a great forum like this. Please, be aware that its not a problem to me or my dog who is looking at the funny side of it. Edited April 5, 2009 by gragra
Guest biggy83 Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Guys, I didn't write the word "Icоnsоft" in its real form, meaning that the letter "o" was replaced by a deferent "o" from the Character Map in Windows. P.S: Try copying the version I wrote and search in Google, you'll not find any results. ;P

B) Quite right about the contacts not transfering... however the additional contact details are stored in the notes section of the contact so opening with any other PIM you can grab the details from the notes section. As for moving, well there isnt anything to move to as of yet. Inesoft Phone just works and i havent run into any problems. Inesoft Phone does have a dialer albeit not replacing the systems default dialer. Its an app that runs when you hit the green button or anywhere you'd expect to use the dialer, so the normal user whouldn't even realise. Also on the dialer app, you can hold the * key to bring up your systems default dialer e.g windows or samsung. For me, it just works and I wont be moving from it untill there is anything that remotely meets its standard. I do have to say, it just seems to be under rated, maybe because its not free..... but i would recommend it, totally worth the money.
Guest Yunabeco Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) I'm using PhoneEx over the trial period. Good software except from the spam marketing (which will prevent me from actually buying it, but that's just me), the free upgrades limit and the fact that it doesn't display the contact name when receiving a call. Only the phone number. I find this odd (and blame my phone settings). Well, I'm currently using PocketShield for receiving calls (which displays them correctly) and PhoneEx for handling them. I'll wait until my trial period is over and check other softwares. Edited April 5, 2009 by Yunabeco
Guest bigmaras Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 I try first one: Inesoft Phone and I must tell that this is nothing special. I will try another one tomorow.
