Guest sidfire Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) Greetings to all from Sydney :-) I had been wanting a simple way to lock my i900 by using the finger swiping method by replacing the built-in TaskSwitch app. With this cab file I have attached, you can now default lock your device using that way. Post-Installation requires a soft-reset of device. *warning* This file Replaces the built-in task switcher app, however all is not lost. to re-assign it back,*edit* simply reinstall the original Taskswitcher.cab from here: TaskSwitcher.CAB download: TaskSwitcher_Lockmodi900.cab Edited April 5, 2009 by sidfire
Guest justin89h Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 This is very similar to what I wanted, nice work. I'm looking to make the finger swipe put the phone into standby instead of the default lock mode. Could use this in the mean time though. What does it run to lock the phone?

Hi, it links to another app called devicelock.. you may get it here : DeviceLock.CAB cheers Sid
Guest yiitcakir Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 is there any chance to make the swing activate taskfacade instead of taskswitcher?or s2u2 for default device lock?
Guest sidfire Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 is there any chance to make the swing activate taskfacade instead of taskswitcher?or s2u2 for default device lock? Yes. For S2u2 , someone else has already done that , you can get it here best-free-tools-for-i900-s2u2-swipe-finger-lock-instead-of-taskswitcher-kyle-is-back/
Guest justin89h Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 After I uninstalled the app, It seemed to not replace the TaskSwitcher.exe back into the windows directory. I will replace it with Qbus' .cab (Where mine came originally anyway) Just letting you know. Thanks for the devicelock.cab. I ended up using VJKeyPress (To emulate power button press) http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJKeyPress

Guest justin89h Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 (edited) I didn't need to install the original DeviceLock.cab when I first ran your application, your app seems to work without it. Edited April 5, 2009 by justin89h

Guest markdooler Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 i might just be being extreemly stupid but i do not get the finger action bit. I have installed the cab but it just adds the software into my program folder, when i select it it locks the device. Where do i get the finger swipe?
Guest gianton Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Sounds nice, thanks. Any screenshots available?
Guest xfer85 Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 Sounds good, looking for screenshots too.
Guest sidfire Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 Sounds nice, thanks. Any screenshots available? Hi Mate, there's no need for a screenshot i suppose?.. this mod just brings the default device lock of your omnia when you finger swipe for inbuilt taskswitcher function.

To do the finger swipe action, just use your finger to press and hold the area where you see the SAMSUNG logo below the screen (for example the 'M' part of SAMSUNG), now gradually pull up your finger towards the screen area from there. hope it helps, cheers Sid
