Guest de.schurk Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Hi Guys, Yesterday I installed GPS Tuner. I was running the application and turned on my GPS. I saw that the GPS Tuner software was searching for GPS signals. I left the phone for about 10min, when I got back the OMNIA was reboot and rebooting. First it displays the OMNIA logo followed by a RED screen with the VODAFONE logo, after that the OMNIA reboots and keeps repeating it. I can not power on my phone! When I connect the USB Cable it powers on by it self! What happend to my phone? How am I suppose to fix this? Can someone help or explain something to me about this? Thanks already!

You will loose anything on the phone with this procedure. hold the large two phone buttons hold them deep, press your stylus inside the little hole just near the power on button. (press the reset button 2 seconds or so, not just a push.) Keep repeating until phone says format yes/no It is called a hard reset. Probably an application is loading on startup, it is the one responsible for your problems. Good luck. See hard reset procedure if any problems but basicly this is it, usually it takes a few times before the format question comes up, please let us know if it worked.
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 (edited) Well, I think it`s time for a hard reset :( Just follow these steps: Turn off the device then while holding the answer and end call keys, power on the device. You will see a screen, answer key to hardreset B) Edited April 8, 2009 by maf107ezk0
Guest de.schurk Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 (edited) I just did a hard reset. The omnia ask if I want to format so I press the right button for it. It says Done and reboots, but I'm still having the same problem. The OMNIA won't power up without the USB cable, is the OMNIA charging the battery when connected with USB ? It is so strange! I did not do anything strange with my Omnia like updating ROMS etc. I can't believe it, is there anything else I can try ? Please? ThankYouThankYouThankYou Edited April 8, 2009 by de.schurk

Guest js3339 Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 I suggest you do not install any custom ROM because you don't want to void your warranty in this situation.

Flashing a custom ROM will void your warranty and it sounds to me like your phone has become a warranty case. You obviously have a branded phone so I would just take it back to vodafone and ask to to repair it for you.

I have had this happen several times. I found the quickest fix was to connect as you would to Activestink. If Omnia ID not recognized, then use Guest. Then use Explore to go to Windows/Start Up folder and delete some stuff (hopefully you can guess what to delete if you haven't added a program or changed something to load at startup. Adding something or changing something to auto start has been my previous problems.) You should then just be able to do a soft reset and save everything loaded. Ron...
