Guest dexstar Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 Hi all, Just find this app over on XDA called myPlayer and got it working well on my omnia so i thought it was worth a heads up. By FryWalker Here is the topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501131 Features: > Stream selection - manually switch between Wifi or 3G quality depending on how much bandwidth you have available > Choose your own media player - define how each stream is played (CorePlayer is recommended) > Keyboard navigation - touch screen is NOT a requirement (although can still be used if preferred) > Full iPlayer integration - browse the Mobile content as you would from any other supported device check it out
Guest FryWalker Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) .. and it will soon feature a link to 8 live BBC channels :excl: Thanks for the recommendation dexstar! -Fry Edited April 10, 2009 by FryWalker
Guest psypher Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) have an error message, (pic removed as fixed problem) any help? Happens on launch. (possibly due to me installing on storage card) Also, it errors when i point it to coreplayer (Mystorage > program files > coreplayer > player.exe) Edited April 11, 2009 by psypher
Guest FryWalker Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) any help? Happens on launch. How is your device connecting to the Internet? Is it still cradled with Windows? May be worth disconnecting the cable so that it is not cradled as I've seen the app have problems with this a couple of times. Just try to make sure you have a working Internet connection before launching the app. Also, it errors when i point it to coreplayer (Mystorage > program files > coreplayer > player.exe) Did you install myPlayer to your device (as opposed to the Mystorage location)? I believe it has something to do with CorePlayer being installed at that location. I will look in to how it deals with media players accessed via storage media. -Fry Edited April 10, 2009 by FryWalker
Guest psypher Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) using wifi and i THINK i installed to storage, reinstalled and got no errors now :excl: however its not linking to the storage media player. Can combat that by installing coreplayer on the device though I spose :excl: Works amazingly with everything on device, thankyou! :excl: Been after something like this for a while now. Eager for updates! Edited April 11, 2009 by psypher

Eager for updates! Its a great app! What i did was to install it on the phone rather than the storage card, and had to use coreplayer as TCPMP says RTFL (if that is right) is not supported, but with coreplayer it works perfectly. I am also eagly awiating updates! :excl:

Guest 3shirts Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 you could always watch iplayer by going in on iplayer from opera on your mobie it streams from samsungs streming player :excl: A lot of ROMS don't have asplayer though (I don't think any of the WM6.5 ones do) and for some reason installing it from CAB doesn't work very well
Guest 3shirts Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 I just installed this on Omnia to try it out but everytime I open it I get a box full of code. The error says "System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. It is currently installed to 'My Storage' but I tried on Device and the same thing happened. I am trying it over WiFi and am in the UK (iPlayer on PC through same connection is fine) and have also tried with my data connection to the same result.

The error says "System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. Looks like the Beeb have changed the way their mobile content is delivered. This will effect all versions :/ I'm working on a fix right now and will release an update ASAP. Apologies for the inconvenience. -Fry
Guest FryWalker Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 *** Updated to version 0.70b *** Change list: - myPlayer is now compatible with the latest BBC iPlayer content structure - Custom live TV channels can be added (in the same way as the Radio stations) For some reason the BBC have decided to mix and match TV and radio content - so for the time being I am just displaying the TV episodes - which is why some of the menus will have fewer choices. Also the way they deliver programme information is slightly more complex so a few menus may take a bit longer to load. I am working on improving the loading times, but thought it would be best to release a working version.

Guest FryWalker Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Is there a way to get this working with TCPMP? Not the full core player? I think the problem is primarily which codecs you have on your phone, but I'm not sure whether or not TCPMP can be configured to use the correct codecs anyway. I have not had any feedback that suggests TCPMP will play any of the BBC iPlayer content over RTSP as yet and I would recommend upgrading to CorePlayer 1.30 if possible. -Fry
