I love the manila 2d UI.. But hate that the "no service" doesnt go away when I have plenty of service....

anyone know how to get rid of it? I don't care if it never says anything, I can tell if there is service by looking at the bars!

Thanks in advance

I get this aswell sometimes after a reboot (also when I have full service). Making an outbound call seems to fix it up, or even just calling someone so it rings once.

Recieving a call or SMS'ing doesnt seem to do it.

Lol... I feel your pain... It doesn't hurt anything but it's still a bit annoying... I dont' have M2D, but S2U2 does the same thing, although it stays even after soft resets and getting a call changes nothing

you should look in HKLM\system\state\samsung\phone\operator and see if it even has the list of all your local providers

That key doesn't exist on the i910.

Any other ideas?

Like Adrynalyne said get Personalizer. Small program that will change your operator name to anything you want. It works great. I have even put it in my ROM so it is already there if you use it. :excl:

I don't know why I had "No Service" with no service bars with s2u2 before personalizer, but ll the sudden I have bars afterwards.... But I like it. Thanks,

Okay, personalizer's cool! Purely cosmetic, but it has bugged me from day one that S2U2 couldn't detect the status of my cell connection on Verizon.

Curious, though: How does it work? Why does simply changing the name (or not! -- Try "Verizon" on Verizon -- still fixes the problem) expose the cell radio state to S2U2?

It doesn't, of course. There's something else going on. Anyone know?
