To start off, the obvious:GPS is finally unlocked and working!!!! Works with Google Maps, iGO8 from my testing. Bad news is that the GPS chip appears to be disabled if the cell radio is turned off -- gotta have the phone radio on to use GPSQuite a bit faster. Very noticable (and very nice!). Not just the OS, but everything, including 3rd party apps. Drawing on my OS background, this really seems more than just improved, tuned software. I'd guess that they made the CPU speed scaling more agressive, and the CPU is now really running at top speed when it's busy doing things. I'll bet most of you didn't know that it never ran faster than about 3/4 of its rated clock speed before, did you?Accelerometer-driven dice game is cute.A bug I believe: When in a phone call, 3G indicator stays "EV" rather than switching to "1X" like it used to. Unless Verizon coincidentally upgraded the network and towers in my area here to 4G last night (supporting simultaneous voice/data over EVDO), they screwed up this one. It's just an indicator, so really no big deal.There's a bunch of other stuff with the widgets, but I can't comment on that since I'm using M2D and didn't play with it much. Post away!

Much improved! *Better kinetic scrolling in Samsung apps. *Samsung Volume Control *New IE, with working flash and youtube. *New Opera, working flash and youtube. *Flash Lite 3.1 built in. Bugs I still noticed: Escalating Ringtone. FavoriteSettings/EasySettings does not work to change ringtone. Samsung Today 2 still not enabled. Etiquette pause is broken in manual rotation mode. Is anyone else experiencing this with the new rom? -the bottom 2 keyboards are the same as the XT9 Keyboard (the new name for Samsung keyboard) -I am unable to enter text into a text field in Skyfire like when trying to log into MLB.TV -sometimes when I press a program in the windows program list, there is no response the first couple times. These are what I have noticed so far.

It's just an indicator, so really no big deal. You know, it seems like that would be entirely software-based. It seems like with some new call-handling servers on their side, and a firmware update for the phones, they could transmit calls over the EVDO network. You're probably right that it's just a glitch with the indicator... but you never know... :excl:

It messes with the system volume. For instance, once you change that setting, your system and ringer volume controls no longer function separately. So no, it still stands as a bug. Try this. Wasn't aware of that, however, I don't normally turn my system volume all the way down normally which is why I never noticed. Thanks for the info though.

Hold on! dialer touch lock setting? threading message setting? iphone popup keys keyboard for samsung keyboard? Kinetic scrolling? FLASH LITE 3.1 with samsung widget? is this the original stock samsung rom or cooked one? can anyone compare apple to apple with our i900 latest stock rom?

Guest tyrelsackett Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 (edited) in texting and email, when I try to change the keyboard to XT9 Keypad or XT9 Phonepad, the keyboard stays the same as XT9 Keyboard. However, in other instances (like when using Opera or PIE) they work correctly. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also - in Settings,System, Optical Mouse - what does "You can toggle by Lock key short press" mean? Edited April 11, 2009 by tyrelsackett

I know there's a setting in the SIP directory to change the default keyboard, anyone know how? That way it'll pop up as the correct keyboard.
Guest DenaeNo9 Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Besides the currently posted, I found I can no longer talk on the phone and use WiFi or data at the same time, gives a message to end the call first, used to be able to check mail and use the net while talking with the old ROM.

They did on the original firmware, but the reality of that was, it probably wasn't intended to work that way. So if you are not an input mode, you just get the qwerty.
