The 2577 folder is useless on garmin because it contains the autorun.exe file which is needed (AFAIK) only on first run to setup the app. I haven't checked what igo puts in there so i can't tell you about that one but i was using both apps without any problems (apart from the lack of space because both apps put 4mb of data to main memory).

yeap... that is my setup as well. which do you like better?

the igo8 uses the folder 2577 as well as tomtom and route 66.... that is why most are easier to hack than the garmin.

you can get a few mini sd cards and put them all on there and switch them out to use the different ones lol

I have to say that Garmin is better for me. I like Igo because it looks nice but i miss some functions that are more handy on garmin. Garmin 4 was great but i'm not impressed with 5 because i have a feeling that it's slower if you use big maps. Everything over 500mb makes startup longer. When i used a 1,9gb map i had to wait for a minute to load which never happened on Igo.

Well because the 2577 folder is useless i guess he can live with both apps. But it will take some of the precious space from phone's memory.

yea... makes sense! THE IGO has different maps for each state that makes loading faster while the garmin uses a giant image file for the map.
