Guest iury_simas Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 I made this post so people (like me) could find in one single place, how to get an i900L device with an i900 Rom and still have it working. I've read a lot of threads scattered and for what I could understand there are 3 ways to get this done: With a full i900L device (one that has never been flashed before): 1 - Flash just the PDA and CSC parts with Grand Prix (no BOOTLOADER or Phone parts) - This was my first test. Didn't get it done. Only had it working again flashing the spanish flash from provided in this forum by sea_man. 2 - Use an original i900 ROM, making changes to the registry, changing the origin of the phone and hex editing the UPDATE.exe file from the downloaded file. - I couldn't get this to work with the i900L. Aparently the registry and origin changes didn't work for the i900L. 3 - Third and last attempt: Got a custom ROM and flashed the device and then just flash the phone part of the i900L back into the device. That worked but as soon as I get past the preconfiguration part, the device reboots it self and then keeps rebooting (left it doing this for over 1 hour, didn't stop) Since I did this with only 2 days with the device, I got it back to the store and got a brand new one (LOL). I really don't want a portuguese device. I want it to be in english (that is the ONLY reason I want it flashed). So please, anyone who made it sucessfully, please explain step by step how you did it. Regards
Guest santix93 Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 Well in my case I do that putting any rom from here and then flashing by GrandPrix just the phone part look that at the sea-man post it is described how to flash it. Greetings.
Guest iury_simas Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 I've tried to do that but something went wrong. All the roms I put there (Taril's, Qbus' and Sector's all DXIA*) went just fine but once I did the preconfiguration part (timezone, screen alignment...) it kept rebooting itself. There wasn't enough time even to click on the start button. Did I have to flash to a specific ROM before going for the DXIA*'s? Well in my case I do that putting any rom from here and then flashing by GrandPrix just the phone part look that at the sea-man post it is described how to flash it. Greetings.
Guest iury_simas Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Ok. I had the guts to do all over again. Ok, I had an i900L from the box. Didn't change anything. Flashed with Sector's DXIA5. Same thing. Once I got past the preconfiguration part it keeps rebooting itself. Tried to flash a DXIA2 rom. Same thing. Flashed with the original ROM from i900L posted by Sea_Man. Worked great but I don't speak spanish LOL. Tried to flash with the official ROM DZIA5 (changing the origin of the phone and hex editing the UPDATE.exe). Didn't get past 16%. Cancelled. Flashed with Grand Prix a DXIA5 official ROM extracted with EXECutor. Auto Rebooting after the preconfiguration. Changed back to the i900L posted by Sea_Man in Spanish. CAN SOMEBODY HELPPPPPPPPPP???? :excl: Since there is no official ROM in portguese or english for i900L. I need to find a way to get the i900 ROM to work on my device.
Guest iury_simas Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Iury, do u use TIM? Yeah, I do. Tim Brazil - RJ
Guest iury_simas Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 Just found out that the damn thing works if I remove the SIM Card. But as soon as I put the SIM Card back, it starts rebooting as soon as it registers the network. That happens with EVERY ROM. And yes, I did flashed the i900L Phone Part back in with Grand Prix. Anyone?
Guest Seth Cold Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) what if you flash the 900L rom.. and then use some of the new wm6.5 roms (the ones that come without radio)?? otherwise... aprende espaƱol :excl:..seems you'd have a great motivation! (your phone lol) im learning portuguese (brazileiro) btw :excl: Edited April 13, 2009 by Seth Cold

Anyone? Hi Iury, Its caused by the new TIM chip (the 128k one). Id the same problem. I just fixed by installing Seaman ROM and updating boot, pda and customer with the new DZIA5 (not the phone). Guest Seth Cold Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 here you go... can be downloaded just 10 times though... wish someone mirrors please Phone version: i900LJJHL3 http://rapidshare.com/files/221305474/phone.bin.html taken from here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-r...someone-recook/ i dont take any responsability :excl:
Guest iury_simas Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 Thanks to Gahbriel I could find what was wrong. I found a way to make it work with any ROM. Since the problem is only with TIM Brazil's 128kb SIM CARD, you can easily overcome this by doing: 1 - Remove the SIM Card so it doesn't restart anymore. Turn on the DEVICE. 2 - Press CANCEL on the keypad that first shows up (as it doesn't have the SIM CARD on) 3- Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialer With the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*# Select 'Preconfiguration' Enter code *#81230*# and select OK Select 'Philippines', with the 'Globe' Operator (THIS IS THE ONLY LOCATION AND OPERATOR THAT WORKS, but I don't know why. I've tried most of them.) Accept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESET 4 - Answer NO when it asks you if you want to receive TIM's Configuration (Otherwise it will continue to restart) That's it. If you want, you can flash just the phone part the i900L Rom but that is required only if you don't wanna lose the 3G. PS: TIM Brazil SUCKS because of this. ANY other SIM CARD of ANY other Operator will work flawlessly. Unfortunately I'm STUCK with this damn thing for 11 more months (I just signed TIM to get the Omnia for a lower price)

Sorry for not giving u better feedback, i already knew all of this but didnt have the time to type. Im finishing a tutorial now. Read it if for further info if u need cause there will be all i know and how i updated mine.
Guest iury_simas Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) I just figured another way to fix the restarting problem. This will keep your device original (without having to change it to Philipines), but it will require ROM Customization. All you have to do is create an imeiBrazil.pfg file with your Operator's settings and put it in the OEMApps folder before cooking the ROM. Since most of these problems are happening with TIM Brazil's 128KB TIM CHIP, I'm posting here the ImeiBrazil.pfg configured for TIM Brasil. PS: I cooked myself a ROM with that. It has PDA_i900DXIA5 (Original without modifications) and PHONE_i900LJJHL3 (latest 1900L Phone part released so far). Works great and my preconfiguration settings are set for Brazil / TimImeiBrazil.zip Edited April 16, 2009 by iury_simas

Guest piratao2 Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) I'm from Brazil too and I'm using Shocka's v14 ROM without any radio problems... I have flashed my brand new i900L branded by Vivo with the mentioned ROM and luckily the ROM did not come with the phone part. After noticing I don't like Shocka's ROM, I decided to flash my i900L with "DXID1/Vie12 exROM update 1" ROM and just now I realized that I would loose my 3G if I flashed my i900L with this ROM. Here, I suppose Vie12 ROM comes with phone ROM embeded and I suppose too the stuff that you call "phone part" is the concept of "Radio Rom" on XDA forum. I have a HTC Tilt 8925 too and I've flashed it many times without flashing the radio rom, so I'm more used to HTC jargon, not too experienced however. My question is, what is the most common behavior regarding those ROMs available to download for Omnia i900 on Modaco, will they mostly come with embeded phone rom or without it? Vie12 thread does not specify if the ROM comes with the phone rom or not, so I don't know if I should try it or not. See, my concern is to make sure the phone/radio rom will not be touched when I flash my phone with Vie12. BTW, whoever wants to buy another brand new/untouched/unlocked Omnia i900L or my very well tuned HTC Tilt 8925, please contact me by PM. Thanks, piratao2 Edited July 2, 2009 by piratao2
Guest DanielCKX Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Im using TIGO Colombia HSDPA service but when i upgraded to DXID1 i lost my connection and now i can only use the EDGE Service. Should i do the Phillipines thing to recover the 3.5G Service?
Guest Mularovsky Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Is there any way to put IMEI after flash a rom?
Guest wolfpack64 Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I'm hoping someone call help me out... I flashed my i900L with an i900 ROM and yes i lost my 3G, but now i wanna go back to i900L is there any i900l ROM that in english that i can download??? or a way to get back my 3G capability?
Guest plguzman Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I think the best option is to flash the phone.bin for the i900L using Grand Prix. Then you can flash any ROM cooked by our chefs, that doesn't have the phone included.
