HowTo: Make Navigon Mobile Navigator 7 work on Omnia

Hi!

I'm new to this forum. I would like to share my experiences with omnia and the official bought and downloaded Navigon Mobile Navigator 7 (7.3.1) for Europe.

I've read so much about the problems, and downloaded a lot of modified settings from other users...

I won't share my files, but will give you a HowTo on what to do with this navigator...

The main problem is that the navigation software isn't supporeted on omnia's screen resolution (240x400 or 400x240 in landscape). It seems that the screen size can't be changed, but, the main windows seems easy to change. Many of the files in the software can be modified to support 240x400 and 400x240. Instead of modifying the files after a installation, did i change them from within the installer. When the Navigon_EU.exe has been exrtracted to your disk do the following steps:

1) Go into your newly created NAVIGON folder with the extracted files (or whatever you coosed to call it).

2) Go into the inst folder.

3) Go into the folder called software and then Navigon.

4) In this folder, you have to edit the BinaryConfig xml-file. Right click and type edit.

5) From within the Edit-menu clcik on replace. Search for 320 and replace them all with the value 400.

6) Now we have changed the 320x240 and 240320 values to 400x240 and 240x400. You will see some links to ini filenames, where 320 still is present. I think you should keep them untouched.

7) Do the above steps for CacheConfig xml-file

8) Now go move to the subdirectory of the actual folder called Settings.

9) Do the edit and replace stuff with the ApplicationSettings xml-file.

10) Now you can install the navigator. Insert your omnia in mass-storage mode (On omnia: Main Menu->Settings->Connection->Usb connection), and go to the main root directory of your navigon extracted files. Open the exe file called start and enjoy the installation.

11) When the software is launched, the screen isn't fully covered- a small blakc border lies in the bottom. That is the farest I can get the omnia working with Navigon Mobile Navigator 7.

I only can see in 240x240.

How can I put 400x240 resolution ?

i got the modified files on my hdd somewhere, give me some time ill upload it.

yes its working but some of the icons are stretched.

Im really wanting to get Navigon to work on my Omnia, if not I might sell it and buy and iphone...
