Guest mandargon Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Coocks and expert question: is there any way to use radio FM with Bluetooth headset?
Guest Adrynalyne Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Considering the antenna is in that stupid little attachment, I don't think so. I could be wrong,l of course.

Guest bpivk Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Doesn't radio work with bluetooth? I can hear every sound the phone makes when i use BT but i have never tryed the radio app. I think that it should work but i don't have the radio cable with me.
Guest ronaldb3 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Coocks and expert question: is there any way to use radio FM with Bluetooth headset? Not a cook or expert, but Yes, I am doing it right now. You do need the bottom half of the Samsung earphone wire connected to the Omnia to use as the FM antenna or you do not pick up stations. I have an iPhono BT headset that also came with a "doogle" to connect to the 3.5 jack on any device that does not have BT. I just disconnect the halves of the Samsung earphones and connected the doogle to the bottom half which is connected to the Omnia. ==> BT stereo headset for FM. Ron...

But if i understand this correctly... you're not using bt from your phone but you pluged a bt module into the headphone FM plug.
Guest theidoctor.org Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 But if i understand this correctly... you're not using bt from your phone but you pluged a bt module into the headphone FM plug. hmm... interesting and weird.... lol yea that sounds about right. Your bluetooth on the phone is not really whats working, its the dongle that transmits the BT to the headphones, but isnt that headphone specific or will the BT dongle work with other bluetooth headsets?
Guest ronaldb3 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) But if i understand this correctly... you're not using bt from your phone but you pluged a bt module into the headphone FM plug. Technically you are right. But the reality is: 1. My radio music is playing on my Omnia. 2. I hear it on my BT headset. 3. No wires to me. I can walk around some distance from the Omnia or have it on my belt. Same end results I think. I really don't mind that there is a piece of technology in there somewhere. (It really is small.) Whoops. Gotta go and put up my Va.Tech flag outside for the anniversary. Ron... Edited April 16, 2009 by ronaldb3
Guest ronaldb3 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) but isnt that headphone specific or will the BT dongle work with other bluetooth headsets? Yes for that BT headset, but they came together to work together if needed. When I got it I sure did not have the Omnia radio in mind. But I do have it. I use it. It works with almost no extra effort. (Have to charge both doogle and headset, power or USB, but it came with a "Y" connector, so really no extra work or time.) But most important I can: 1.)hear my radio Fm music, 2.)on my Omnia, 3.)with no wires to my head. And isn't that the goal here? Remember, the original question of the post was "any way to use radio FM with Bluetooth headset?". Answer = "Yes". "Don't lose sight of the prize!" (The Highlander) IMHO, Ron... PS-is there a generic doogle for 3.5 plug to BT out there that would work with most any BT headset? I think that would work the same as my setup. Edited April 16, 2009 by ronaldb3
Guest mandargon Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 But it would be wonderful to can hear radio by software (without doogle 3.5 to BT).
