newbie confuse about upgrading my i900

Hi, this is my first time ever upgrade a mobile phone firmware.

Okay I know this is the version

PDA : i900DXHK2 / DZHK2

PHONE: i900 XHK2

DX Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam

DZ Malaysia, Singapore

Release: 2008

Month: November

Firmware: V2

But I am confuse which one should I download according to this link

I am living in USA, using T-Mobile but sadly USA doesn't support this model at all.

I want to upgrade to latest version, which link and how do I do that?

Do you want to download an official or cooked ROM?

For official try Philipines, if this does not work try Singapore. Either one should work and is OK to use.

If you want a cooked one, you can use anyone you like. Just read the description first.

Just remember, no matter what kind of ROM you are trying to flash to, there is ALWAYS a chance to brick your phone.

the patch from either one, will upgrade to the latest one?

or will it work like patch1 -> 2 -> 3 -> 4 ->5? you get the idea

It's not a patch but a new rom so yes as soon as you flash your Omnia you'll have the latest rom.

If you have an unlocked Omnia originally for the Southeast Asia region then you are good to go. I currently have the cooked Qbus4 DXIA2 clean rom from Passeo DJxyz (forgot) manila2D rom from the factory rom (forgot but could be close to yours) and had no problem flashing at all. Just follow the standard procedure and easier with exe files, use XP with recommended service pack 3 (or 2 not sure).

As I remembered:

1) download Samsung modem driver and install it

2) connect USB data cable to computer and make sure it shows "connected" in Activesync

3) power down phone and turn it back on

4) a window will ask which flash (exe) to burn, click on the file and it automatically shows a progress window until it is done (say "successful download" or something like that)

5) remove cable and power down and up again

6) it will soft reset itself after the calibration window

7) now you can go ahead configure the rest

thanks, i will try it tonight

even if it crash the system, how do i recover it? (if i can't even hardset it because it doesn't boot or for whatever reason....)

i brought it in USA, from a wholesale

back and front label samsung so i guess it is the original samsung, not the Anycall brand
