Guest Turborepu Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) ok i have been having issues typing lately. i press the s key many times when i mean to press the a key. so i re calibrated the screen.. still s prob. today i tried to recalibrate again with a toothpick.. same deal. so i decided to draw on my notepad to see how far off the calibration is.. here is what i found. the screen is calibrated fine except for the lower left quarter. i will post a screenshot so you can see what i mean. as you can see in the pic there is a sort of dent on the side.. i made those lines using a ruler. so the pen touches the screen at a certain point but the screen registers it like 1\8 - 1\4 inch off almost.. but only for that area. any idea if its software related or hardware.. tia.. Guest maf107ezk0 Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 It`s definately hardware... Sorry to tell you, but I think you need a new screen/digitizer :excl:
Guest necosino Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 I'd try doing a hard reset first, just for kicks...
Guest Turborepu Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 im sure verizon will give me another. i guess i'll hang on to the phone for a tad longer, then go get it replaced.
Guest Turborepu Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 i have hard reset already. problem as still there. so this whole time since i had this phone i have been switching keyboards... try to get better accuracy and it was a hardware issue all along.
Guest pw-man Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Interesting finding. I have the same problem with the XT9 keyboard myself. I am going to try your rule trick to see. Here is the link to a forum item I had just started, right before I saw your post. http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsung-i90...html#post784462 pw-man
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Yes, your phone is on Verizon so they`ll have no problem changing it :excl: Tell us how the new one is :excl: My reccomendation is to change it as fast as you can :excl: But if you have a custom rom, revert back to the original :excl:
Guest Turborepu Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 thats why im gonna wait a bit. once the official rom is released, ill flash it and go get it exchanged. i'll walk in there with my unhappy customer face lol..

I have a similar problem (for the last 3-4 days). Initially, there was no problem. But maybe exposure to heat (aka fan exhaust from my laptop) could have done this? I drew the lines trying to rougly overwrite the straight lines in the Notes.
Guest Wadzii Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 im having a similar problem w/my i910. if you look in the windows folder there is an application, LCDtest when i use that i find that although my inputs are registered in the right spot, the outer 1/4inch or so takes a significant amount of pressure to register, the rest of the screen barely has to have any pressure to register an input. if you guys get bored, try it and see what you come up with
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Wadzii, the same can be done with typing *#0*# in the dialer (and there are more tests there) :D
Guest Wadzii Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 the dialer shortcuts dont work on the verizon i910 :D
Guest OzzyW Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 the dialer shortcuts dont work on the verizon i910 :D Have you tried Favorite Hackings ?
Guest Tommekk Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Same problem lower left side is corupt does any have some complainings with microphone... so that people that are talking with you say: I cant hear you good, you have a broken phone? and i wonder how many of us Omnians have a crack in the middle black pastic on bouth sides (next to the power button ) T.
Guest Turborepu Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Well I got a replacement shortly after making this post originally, and the new phone was good a for while.. Now though it has the same issue, i guess it must be getting heat warped on that side since that is where the connector is. So i may wait a bit and call and harrass VZW and get another omnia sent to me. that would make it my third.
