So i made a thread for all the folks who bricked their omnia, and the common denominator seems to be that we all flashed using a usb 1.0(or usb 1.1) connection.

Believe it or not, yes there are still people out there that dont use USB 2.0.

USB 2.0 was not specified as a requirement in the .pdf directions file either.

So will everyone who is making a tutorial please emphasize this so that no one else ends up with a bricked phone?

I wish i wouldve known this before i bricked mine!

This is good to know! Even if someone's computer has all USB 2.0 ports, they still may be using a hub that's only 1.1. I have even seen some computers that have USB 2.0 ports on the back, and USB 1.1 ports on the front.

Hopefully Samsung will either fix this or put a warning in the official release. :excl:

Don't be flashing if you get a checksum error with UMDL either.

Its a corrupt file, and it will still let you flash, if you are foolish enough.

Don't do it!

I did the original CC20 on a 1.1. It took forever, but it worked.

hmm... Did it seem to freeze at any point? Maybe most people who bricked just weren't waiting long enough.

Mines stopped at 48% for like 10 minutes. I ran out of patience and did a soft reset. Ultimately that move killed my phone!

Maybe i shouldve just left it alone.
