Guest amreboot Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 After reading and searching I have found that I need to have the following settings for my GPS after the rom update... External GPS Program Port - COM3 Hardware Port - COM9 Baud Rate - 4800 (CHECKED) Manage GPS Automatically (recommended) After doing that, I hit OK and when I go back in there Hardware Port is put back to (None) everytime. What can I do to fix this?

Most programs will search and find it on their own, others you can set to Com 8 and a baud of 57600.

I flashed with much success and am trying to run a trial version of garmin xt but I do not have the External GPS setting in my settings? Do I need something else? I used the Leaked Rom. Thanks in Advance Rob
Guest Omega Ra Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 you do NOT need the external GPS settings AT ALL. What you need to do is, after flashing the leaked ROM, go to Start>Settings>Phone>Services>GPS>change settings and put location to ON. Click okay, soft Reset, click ok again and that is it.
Guest dbol Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 You know, I had better luck setting my GPS using the 'External GPS' control panel applet, which can be reached by editing HKLM/ControlPanel/GPS Settings/ and renaming Redirect to Default. No reset necessary. TomTom found my GPS and picked up birds right away without needing to access it, but iGo had better luck when I did modify the settings... GarminXT to be tried tomorrow...
Guest greezmky Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Ok, Thanks! Ill try the registry after work today. The garman program says "server could not process request. Please contact customer support" Could this have to do with it being a trial version? Thanks again Rob

Thanks again Rob thats not even a GPS problem... the EXTERNAL gps settings are only for EXTERNAL gps devices. not the INTEGRATED gps on the phone itself.
Guest greezmky Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 I have concluded as stated that it is not the GPS. I loaded Google maps and got 4 sats. Tried Garmin again and got the same message. Also got this message when I tried to purchase the software, so it seams that the program is no being allowed to us the Omnia's net?? Thanks Guys If you have any Ideas, let me know Rob
Guest Foster318 Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 I'm using Garmin just fine, I just had to crack it. For the record I did buy the external, but since the leak have used the internal. If you need help PM me.

Love the new rom thanks so much, Honestly, I never had much luck with Google maps. Most people say they get it to work as just Managed by Windows.. Try out Live Search or a GPS program that will at least show if the phone is reading the GPS. Your first lock can usually take a good 10-15 minutes or so, so you may want to try again and just be patient <_<
Guest LarryP Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 No go with windows live search either. I really dont get this... I hve been through it before and was sucessful, this time same steps no go. any ideas? Honestly, I never had much luck with Google maps. I have since fixed that issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.
