Storage memory Problem

Hi my storage memory is saying it has only 17 mb left, i have hardly anything installed on my phone expect on the external storage device. When i do a search for files over 500k in the memory option in settings it shows me i have some cab files of like 10mb here and there but doesnt show me where they are so i can delete and you dont get the option from here. I then used resco explorer to see if i can find those cabs, it couldnt find them, i was wondering if windows on the omnia stores temp fiels anywhere i could delete, i check temp folder, its empty, also i emptied recycle bin, if you need any screens just ask.

This is quite common with most of us that use the Omnia, I posted the same question a while back. In my case the phone has the MAIN MEMORY that is divided on "Storage" and "Programs" what most users like me and possible you have problems with is the "Storage" running low. The phone also has "Storage Card" memory which is the 8gb that comes with the phone (i910 on my case) and the extra 8gb that I added myself. The storage card memory I guess you can compare it to the Hard Drive of a PC, its only used for storage, while the MAIN MEMORY I guess its more like the RAM. My phone only has 88.17 Mb's of the MAIN MEMORY assiged for storage. I personally think this is pretty stupid, but not much that you can do.

Now as for options on how to solve this, there are two that I am aware of; the first one and less risky one is look for a program called clearTemp or something like that. Its a freeby and it will clear all the extra junk that your phone never clears, like cache, browsing history and things of that sort. You can also move the pics that come with the phone already to your storage, doing a reboot helps a little as well, clearing the history of your browser. The program pretty much do all of the above except move files for you. That is what I personally use.

Now the second, it depends on the model of omnia you have. If you have a i900 you can flash it with a cooked ROM, that is probably lighter than the default one, now this is not really an option if you have an i910 aka the verizon one. They just started cooking roms for this versions, so not many options yet. Becareful if you go this way, because you void your warranty and if you have no idea what all of this is, chances are that you can totally brick your phone.

Considering this, you can decide which path to go. Anyway good luck and once you figure how to deal with this little issue you will get to really enjoy your phone!!

Ok so I used ClearTemp and SKTools and got a little bit of memory back, here is what i have now, it is average for a Verizon i910? Does anyone know?
