Guest kav Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) i have been using a software on my omnia which replaces the standard samsung dialer and the phonebook as well. the name of this software is not really mentioned here since it is not really allowed on the forum due to the fact that many people were posting way too much advertisement abt it here, in order to get a free license, which i think is absolutely stupid from the devlopping company ( ico*s**t). i think u guys know already abt which program i am talking abt. what i am interested is the way they use the scrolling in the program interface, it is really smooth and responsive, not like the crap that comes with microsoft win mo. actually it is all abt the speed of the scrolling (kinetic scrolling motion) and the increment of each scrolled pixel/line. can this be actually implemented in the win mo, by either a reg hack or whatever? if we can get this as a hack or something to work on the omnia, then i am sure we beat the iphone hands down with our omnia ( not that we didnt already beat it down :excl: ) there is the touchfloSL that improves the scrolling but i was wandering if we can actually get it to work like this in the win mo without having to use additional resources or 3rd party apps. Guest kav Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 (edited) FTouchSL would this app change the ui as well? or just the scrolling system, making it more fluid? btw thnx for answering. EDIT: i answered my own question, it allows to improve kinetic scrolling, but it kills all the sensitivity. i cant scroll in the widgets or my contacts manager which had kinetic scrolling as well...... any other solutions??? is there a reg hack to increase the default scrolling sensitivity in win mo and make like fluid kinetic scrolling instead of like in steps? Guest joža Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 (edited) it changes nothing but physichs of scroll (e.g. in programs menu, settings, all other listwiews). try it i think it's free you just have to email author to give you code. but it conflicts with other programs's gestures (like spb mobile shell). I stopped using it bu i don't know the reason xD there are also youtube vids like this: CLICK Edited May 15, 2009 by joža

Guest kav Posted May 15, 2009 Report Posted May 15, 2009 we could say it sucks by nature hehe:D definitely, but i believe there should be a way to change this, there shoud be a registry value to regulate this.
Guest OzzyW Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 For FTouchSL to work perfectly: install, soft reset your phone. after resetting go to the FtouchSL settings -Do not turn on FtouchSL -Disable native scrolling -Enable Kinetic scrolling. now you are left with sweet fast kietic scrolling and the step by step scrolling with the annoying clicking sound is GONE! no compatibillity issues with other programs! I'm happy with this <_<
Guest jamjamjam Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Also, for completeness, I use Advanced Config tool (or you can use registry) to change sidebar width to 0 (making it invisible <_<) Get ACT from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151 Edited May 17, 2009 by jamjamjam
Guest OzzyW Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Also, for completeness, I use Advanced Config tool (or you can use registry) to change sidebar width to 0 (making it invisible :) ) I left mine on 5 instead of 15 <_< so I can still see where I am on the page! Matter of taste I guess ;-) Edited May 17, 2009 by OzzyW
Guest dwallersv Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 FTouchSL -- nice discovery! I installed it, added "Mobile Shell.exe" as an exception and disabled scrolling -- no conflicts/interaction problems with MS3 (MS3 scrolling physics model is better, and can readily see and feel that it is working instead of FTouchSL's). Everywhere in the standard windows apps, FTouchSL provides very nice smooth scrolling and kinetic intertia. I love it. One problem: I can't get the gestures or touch zones working. I set up down-left, and was able to get it to bite maybe 1 in 10 tries. Up, down, left, right don't work at all. None of the corner touch zones work either. Obviously I set it up right if I could get it to work occasionally. Increased the size of the zones, this didn't help. Anyone have any similar experience and a solution? I'd buy this thing if I could get those features to work reliably. BTW, this "non-function" is uniform across any application in the FG -- not just MS3. I'm also using WkTask, which I thought might be a problem for the top part of the display, so disabled it -- still no joy. Any help?
Guest Broda Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 FTouchSL is a nice one But I prefered use SPB Mobile Shell v3.0.1 Beta 3
