There is really no specific kitchen yet for the i910. I am using the SYOK kitchen for the i900. Even then I had to make some changes and I do a lot of the work by hand (I'm not a programmer so I can't really write any tools that would make it easier for me). I have written down some instruction for myself that makes things a little easier. I can post them if you would like me to. They are basic instruction right now though, nothing fancy.

I'm working on trying to get ervius kitchen to work, I've only spent an hour or two on it, and even had to modify that a bit. It's not working yet, but it should be on it's way to working. Using this will allow me to hopefully get wm6.5 working (or at least make it easier).

to be honest blazingwolf (and everyone else)...

removing and adding by hand is the best way to do it :excl:. You learn better, and also you know exactly what u have done (or not done)..

I use SYOK, and it is great, saves me a lot of time..i cook i900 so i get the full use of it :excl:. But doing what you do is the best way in my opinion.

I am not a programmer or anything, but it is relatively easy to learn if you are computer literate and have a brain for stuff like this.

My day job is as far away as you can get from cooking ROMs, i am a fund accountant (stockmarket stuff), but i have always been into PC, electronics and ultimately phones.

A kitchen will be developed, and it will be from people like blazingwolf and WoZZeR, as they have a real need for it...

Good luck, and i hope you solve your WM6.5 issues too....

Blazingwolf, do you get a log in the dump folder when running BuildOS, when it errors, depending where it errored, it will give you a report. Go straight to the bottom and it will give you the registry of where it failed.

If you said you didnt have any packages in OEM, then you will have to find the registry (.rgu or dsm) that it is struggling with.

Depending on what it is remove it or fix it or whatever needs be and run BuildOS again..

Maybe thats what it is? You usually get .hv errors coz a package is not correct (the .rgu).

I dunno, just trying to help and offer my advice...however, i am no pro...sector, qbus, khuanchai, PaSSoA, Paul, are the ones with major knowledge of this game..

The truth is out there bro...

Thanks for your comments shokka9. :excl: I'm pretty committed to this and I will keep on trying for the WM6.5.

Here is the error in the log:

BuildBootHive: (RGUComp) !ERROR unable to mount hive file ".\boot.hv"

wmain: (RGUComp) !ERROR failed building BOOT hive

I'm going to guess and say that this means there is something wrong with my xip. The question is what? This is where my being a newb just kills me.

Shokka, that's amusing. I'm starting to cook a ROM as well, and the amusing part is that I'm a Jr. Staff Accountant in a CPA firm :excl: (Still a student working towards my MBA and CPA license, but its a great job, especially without having my degree yet)

that would be awesome. I love what you guys are doing. but I am not sure what to use. I would love to see the redundent programs and VZ ware to go away. and keep the bells and whistles. Like having 2-3 photo viewers is annoying. I know you said I could take yours and re-add the cabs I saw fit right?

also everytime i put .net 3.5 on my phone it screws up my gps. Does your rom's gps work ok with 3.5 in it. i also heard you got agps working. is that true?

My GPS works just fine with 3.5 on it plus I got rid of all of the VZW stuff. :excl:

Anyways you can try any of them and then stay with the one you like. The directions I have now are very basic. I will have to spend more time to make them anything even close to comprehensive. I'll see about posting them in the next few days (my work shifts are starting again and I work 24 on 24 off for the next 5 days).

AGPS is not working, unless I have missed something.

Some basic instructions to get the kitchen working.

First thing to do is to download the SYOK kitchen. You will also need to find and download a newer version osnbtool, 1.56 is the newest at this time. This is what you need to start. Then use the attached extractROM_bin.cmd (I renamed it to txt so I could attach it here. You can copy and paste or rename it to cmd, remove WoZZeRs name and then overwrite the existing file). Over write the one found in the SYOK kitchen. This is what you need to get started. Now drag the img file over to the extractROM_bin.cmd file and let it work. As long as everything works it should create a bunch of files in an OEM, SYS and ROM folder. You should also see an os.nb file. You now need to go in and take out the items that you don't want and put in the things you do want. This can be tricky so pay attention to what you are doing.

To build a new ROM you drag and drop the os.nb file on the buildROM.cmd file. This will bring up the buildOS screen. Click on the green arrow and then when it says that it is done close it out. Wait for a little bit as G'Reloc does it's thing. You should then see things happening in the command prompt window. Wait until this is finished and you see the comment to press any key to continue. Your ROM has now been made. You will find a file in your Omnia-eng folder that is called newRom.bin. Change the name of this file to Flash.bin.

Open UMDL and press the PDA button. Browse to the location you have placed your flash.bin file and click open. When it finishes loading you then need to click on detect to find your phone. Turn your phone off (make sure that you have turned off USB sync in Activesync or WMDC) then connect your phone to the cable and turn your phone back on. UMDL should recognize your phone and start loading the ROM. Once it is finished it will hard reset and start up. Depending on the changes you made will determine what your ROM looks like as it starts.

If all goes well and you have made no mistakes your ROM should load and everything will work like you want it to.

Please realize that while it sounds simple enough it is very easy to make mistakes which can cause your ROM not to build correctly, load correctly on your device or work correctly.

These instructions are provided as is and are not 100% complete. I have no responsibility for what you do to your device. If it bricks don't blame me. :excl:

If I find more time I will probably update this information. :excl:

You can also make a .cmd or .bat so you don't have to drag os.nb to make rom. it made my life easier

I think I have learned more by reconstructing cabs of stuff removed :excl:
