Hello, new the forum and a new owner of a i910 Samsung Omnia (Verizon).

For whatever reason I cannot stream audio to my phone (not even window media). I've been looking for a 3rd party ap (preferably freeware).

I've searched here, google, and over at xda.

Many thanks for your help!

Hmmmm...This really wasn't was I was asking for as I was having trouble playing an asx stream from another site. I can play it my computer, but not on my Omina in WMP. However I just setup Winamp remote and an asx stream works fine! They also simulcast the stream for Real, Itunes, and Winamp. This is for the website scanamerica.us.

With that said.....Winamp Remote is awesome!

Yeah I host a couple of streams over there and was hoping to be able to listen to them when I'm on the road. I think I may have found out why it's not working and explains why it said it couldn't find the file. When I edited the asx file it pointing to a mount point on streaming server, when I put that in my browser it want's to download an mp3 file. So it want's to stream an mp3 player.

I just found a program that may work. I'll report back on this momentarily.

alright

I found one that plays streaming MP3, but doesn't process asx extensions. But I found a trial program called Pocket player. Works perfectly. I have 30 days to see if I want to buy. Hopefully I can find a freebie that will process asx files and play streaming MP3.

Heres what i did. If you found an internet radio station you like. Find the windows media player link. Get the url then type that url into the windows media player open url option. If thats what you were doing and it still wasnt working i dont know why. It worked for me. Looks like you are using winamp remote now anyway.

Try to not keep the phone in your pocket when you are streaming. It will get hot. Also remember that it will drain the battery like crazy.

edit: hmm dont know. I just tried it again and its not working for me now. I know for a fact I was streaming that way 3 or 4 months ago.
