This happened to me too, try this: 1) go to contacts 2) pick a name 3) go to menu 4) press edit 5) press ok without changing anything 6) repeat for all names This seemed to have worked. Good luck

Guest jwmt Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 thank you very much for ur clear instructions :D however it doesn't work for me  i suspect its sprite backup that causes this... need more advise ! Its too bad because I used sprite backup and had the same problem, did it on my gfs omnia also and she had the same problem. After I did those steps it seemed to work. What I noticed before the rom upgrade was that when I entered a new contact I had to put in the name twice for some reason. After the rom upgrade and using sprite backup, when I enter a new contact I only have to enter the name once. When you go to contacts theres a section for name and a section for file as. I believe the section under file as was missing a name and when I go to menu and edit, they automatically put the same name into the file as section which then stays that way after you press ok. However theres no way for me to check if that is true because once you go to edit, they automatically put the name into that section, but its just wierd that they don't ask me to put the name twice like before when you add a new contact. So this was my theory and it seemed to have worked on our phone. Maybe you can check if there is a name under the name section and also under the file as section in contacts.
