Guest zabique32 Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Samsung Omnia Pro with QWERTY keyboard to come in July After the Omnia i900 and Omnia HD i8910, Samsung may come up with an Omnia Pro, which should feature a full QWERTY keyboard alongside a wide touchscreen display – just like HTC’s Touch Pro and Touch Pro2. Reportedly, Samsung Omnia Pro will hit the market in July, for a retail price of around €500 ($662). That’s much more than the price of i7500, rumored to be the first Android phone from Samsung. Anyway, HDblog.it says that the Omnia Pro runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 (upgradeable to WM 6.5 as soon as the new OS becomes available). So no Symbian, nor Android for this Omnia. samsung-omnia-pro-qwerty (the image above is just a mock-up) Apart from the sliding QWERTY keyboard, Samsung Omnia Pro should also have a 3.5 inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen display and a 5MP camera with autofocus, flash, image stabilizer and video recording. SWEEEEEEEET!
Guest Natsirt Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 it doesn't push my buttons, and i dont think it will actually happen.. :S
Guest ardvarkofdoom Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Dude, I'd love it if this came out... There are just so many times that being able to have a physical, off screen keyboard would be handy. I've gotten used to having to use the touchscreen keyboard, but a physical one would just feel better... but most importantly, having a physical keyboard means that half or more of the screen won't be taken up
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 I don`t think this will happen :D Maybe an Omnia HD with hardware QWERTY, but i900 - don`t think so
Guest Tim-H Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Its all about getting used to typing onscreen. The vibration feedback on key tap is nice. The only advantage would be like said above the screen wouldnt be taken up by a keyboard, but really its only there when you are doing text input anyway, then you hide it again. The omnia is already cramped inside its shell. I think a keyboard would make it quite a bit thicker.
Guest missing2 Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 yea im not getting my hopes up. would love to have it though.
Guest thierryyy Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 lol, in the picture above, that QWERTY keyboard is from the Samsung F700, my previous phone.
Guest Natsirt Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 I don`t think this will happen :D Maybe an Omnia HD with hardware QWERTY, but i900 - don`t think so  yeah prob the omnia hd might see hardware options like this, but i900 is old and samsung probably wont invest in trying to make something old, new again.
Guest GoldenSpartan Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 (edited) First Samsung Andriod Phone I asked myself, "what would may the omnia perfect?" my answer was a qwerty keyboard! IF only it would keep its original size with retractable keyboard, with the HD package, I would flip out. :D Edited April 26, 2009 by GoldenSpartan
Guest Esej Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 I hope this comes out, I was thinking of selling my omnia to buy a touch pro or something because of the slide out QWERTY keyboard.
