samsung omnia charging time

My brand new sambung omnia seems to be charging longer than usual cellphones. I have to wait for almost 4 hours for it to be completely charged. Is it normal?

I think this is normal

My omnia came with two STANDARD BATTERIES and one thin which can charge them without Omnia

So i recharge one while having fun with another

The battery is has a larger capacity than usual cellphones, therefore it takes longer to charge .. simple as that :D My old nokia 6290 took about 1 hour to charge, and it lasted me about a day.. and my omnia takes about 3 hours to charge and lasts me 3-4 days..

what i would like to know is, if i charge the omnia when its got 60% battery left, would that damage the battery?? Because it's at 60% right now and I'll b out at university the whole day tomoro and I don't want my omnia to die on me ...

You can charge it whenever you need to without memory effects.

Apparently more frequent charging is recommended with lithium-ion batteries versus full discharge, then full charging as in the case of the old Ni-Cad batteries. Here is some good info to read through.
