EDIT:

My Solution to have the screen rotate left at button press,

Use Ae Button Plus to map the WkTaskCMD.exe to your button of preference.

In parameters put "/r" with no quotations,

Set up your rotation settings through WkTask.

Soft Reset for a clean slate and you're set!

I found that last night but it gives me and error about the applicatino not being digitally signed then locks up the phone, which I think may be the fault of Fingersuite's Messagebox since notifications from other programs such at touchpal seem to lock up the same way. 

Regardless does anyone know of a better way to rotate the screen to the left, so that the optical mouse is on the left side of the screen when in landscape?

I took a look at rotation service but couldn't make heads or tails out of the xml file.

Any help's appreciated!

Yeah go to the screen settings.

Start> Settings > System> Screen> and click Landscape right handed, then press ok.

That works until I hit the Main Menu key which I've mapped to rotate.

At which point it begins rotating to the wrong side.

There must be a better way than having to go through this menu every time I want to rotate to the left, right? :D

If only it were that easy, but then how would I rotate back and forth? I'm not going to go through the rotation settings every time I want to view in landscape.

Does anyone know anything about the rotation service? Is is a program?

Install Wktask and use the launcher to rotate.

Ahh, wait a second, just realized this technique won't work for full screen apps, pocket cm image viewer, vito sms, etc.

There is a cab around here somewhere called "Advanced Config". It has a tweak to set default rotate to be 90 or 270 degree. Maybe this will do it for you.

Newbie Tip: please Quote what you are replying to (or just some part if it is really big) so others can follow the thought in case they are just lurking and can use the fix for their same problem. Sometimes it helps.

Perhaps this setting in advanced config it is conflicting with the "left handed/right handed" settings in wktask but after a soft reset it goes back to the default, rotating to the right.

If I uninstall advanced config will it restore all the default values for the changes I've made with it or will those settings stick? (i.e. incresed height for the scroll bar arrows)

Don't know for sure about a soft reset, but I would think the settings would not change, just as if you had changed things manually with a Reg Edit program. For a hard reset, the settings should go back to factory setup values and you have to redo ones you want to keep.

I wonder if you can forgo the setting in wktask and just use Adv Config?

I was thinking of doing it the other way round, since I don't always need advanded config, if the changes I've made stay after I uninstall it, then I can just use the rotation settings in WkTask with no interference, I will uninstall Advanced Config and let you know if the settings stick.

I've uninstalled Advanced config and WkTask both together and seperately and I think the problem is that the rotation program I'm mapping to the Menu key, the one found in the 'Buttons' settings only rotates 90' to the right. Anyone know of a program that I could map that would rotate to the left?

If you AEButton you can set which screen positions are available. Then you can use any rotate tool and it will only use the positions you choose.

I have it set to use 0 and 270... you would want 0 and 90

I am not a lefty but I like my screen the other way. Anyways, I just used AE Button Plus, mapped it to rotate screen, and then changed the screen orientation settings to 0° and 90°
