Guest djdavid60 Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 (edited) I tried using Gcz and Basic GPS today, didnt seem to work to well, anyone got a better program that can show compass, and mapping or something? I use GeoScout. It works great. It's got a lot of features. It integrates really well with Geocaching.com too. I tried Basic GPS too and had no luck getting it to work. Guest cOnTaGoUs Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 cant seem to get GeoScout to work, it installed ok, then asked for something about sql's so installed that part to. Loads up but doesnt give me an option to find com 8 for gps, then when i click auto detect it crashes, any ideas?
Guest Blobs Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 I use NoniGPS on my Omnia i900. Works great. He also does a Mapview program for downloading maps of areas you want to track. http://aeguerre.free.fr/Public/PocketPC/No...ot/EN/index.php Program is free to try and not expensive to open up all the features.
Guest phantomguy1 Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 dont know if it works.... found this really quick. This is just a compass http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-downlo...gps-v1-0-4.html

Try uninstalling Geoscout, delete the folder for GeoScout in your Program Files folder, then install SQL, then make sure you have the latest dotnetfx (3.5 i believe) installed. Then reinstall Geoscout. I've always had to have it autodiscover the GPS and it has always worked.
Guest cOnTaGoUs Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 yeah still dont work, nether mind tho :D
Guest cOnTaGoUs Posted May 2, 2009 Report Posted May 2, 2009 Why cant we get something like this :D http://www.geocaching.com/iphone/default.aspx
Guest roshfe Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Just spent the weekend away doing some caching using my Omnia i910 with GeoScout. I had to 'jump through some hoops' to get all of the MS Compact Framework stuff installed before leaving but that was more MS's fault than GeoScout's. Once out in the field, the unit worked awesome! The unit was just as accurate as my Garmin VistaHCx and it was great to have the full details from Geocaching.com available. While my wife was writing in the log book, I was 'writing' a log in the Omnia which can sync directly to the Geocaching.com site right away or do a delay'd upload to avoid roaming fees. IMO, GEOScout has all of the features that I want in a GeoCaching app ... the only complaint that I have is that it isn't AS finger friendly as the iPhone app that cOnTaGoUs mentions above. The functionality all seems to be there but not as pretty. Still, I highly recommend it! <_< Cheers...
Guest Roger€³¤€³€¼½ Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 I also use GeoScout 1.5.1.0 with the I900 and love it
Guest bornl33t Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 GCzII is out. It's really good stuff....
